taken from the email list (Doug Gribben)...

Here's what I hoped to read:

"The Chicago White Sox fired manager Jerry Manuel and hired former Chicago
Bears and New Orleans Saints football coach Mike Ditka as interim manager.

"I'm going to kick some serious ass over the next week", Ditka said. Over
the next hour, he referred to Frank Thomas as "that big p***y" and banged
second baseman Ray Durham's head on the dugout steps after a practice gaffe.

"Shortstop Royce Clayton refused to comment after the first team
meeting, as he was cowering in a corner of the concourse, trembling with
fear."

:iron
"I'll fix those crybabies."

i wouldnt mind seeing a harbaugh(sp?)-Da Coach type of 'spat' in the dugout with him and frank. it just might light a fire under his bum.

Theres no way jerry reinsDORF will fire his hand-picked men.Hes' loyal to a fault and hates to admit hes' wrong. Its too bad though.Has anyone watched the cubs lately? They look like a different team since they changed managers.I guess thats what happens when you dump a wishy-washy laid back kinda guy and put in a take charge guy.Its weird because i never would have figuered baylor to be that way because he scared the sh@t out of guys as a player.

I think it's much more a case of the latter, Harwar--his "loyalty" to his employees stems from his personnel (and budget) decisions. Just have these guys question the Big Cheese and see how loyal he would remain.
