You may very well see Selig walk away from a head on court fight with Frank now. His major concern was that Jamie would end up with the team.

Selig created this mess in the first place by promising Frank he would get a baseball team if he walked away from the Red Sox sale. McCourt had teamed up with Charles Dolan a decade ago and had the land for a new Fenway Park.

But Selig did not want Dolan as an owner and then hatched the deal where John Henry sold the Marlins to Loria and MLB then bought the Expos.

Actually what happened from a legal standpoint was that MLB bought the Marlins and the Expos and Florida simply traded the entire roster. This is why the Montreal investors wound up owning part of the Marlins.
