The people of Philly and New York were busy getting in all their errands, shopping, etc. before the LCS started.

There has always been a lot of day games in the first round of the postseason. All three of the Sox games in 2000 were day games as I recall. I know game 1 against the Saux in 2005 was a day game. I don't remember if the other 2 were.

I don't get cable so, like Sgt. Schultz, I saw nothing.

All three were day games. Rockinrobin23, you might be remembering ALCS game 2.

"Hmm. Well, it seems to me the public was a little disheartened that the beloved Red Sox failed, depriving them of a Yankees/Red Sox LCS. We are confident our upcoming playoff changes to guarantee the Red Sox get in every year give smaller market teams more of an opportunity will help renew interest in the playoffs."

Game 3 in Boston was, at best, a twilight game, I remember it started a Friday afternoon after I had finished classes around 3 PM. Didn't end until around 6-7 Central time.

Quick check of the old game threads shows that Game 2 started around 6 PM Chicago time, Game 3 started around 2:30.

Ratings, schmatings. Some of the best playoff baseball in quite some time.

You are right about Game 2. It started at 6:09p CT. I remembered it as a day game because it was still daylight when the game started.

You are correct about game 3. It started in the afternoon at 4:09P ET and ended when it was dark. I remember that well because I had to Tivo the game and was able to start watching it when I got home at 6:30p.

Agreed. They missed out, that's their problem. I was enjoying every minute of it.

True, but without cable it's hard to watch playoff baseball.

I think MLB may be feeling the effects of having all the division series games on cable. I still think that was a stupid decision. Despite what many people seem to believe, there are lots of people who don't have cable or satellite. I also think the "casual" viewer might not know to look on TBS/TNT, even if they have cable.

I agree the division series games were some of the best playoff baseball in several years. I watched all of the night games.

NBC, your table is ready. If you're serious about broadcasting baseball again, we'll throw Fox under the first bus we can find.
