Adam, you will always have the worst batting average of all time in our hearts.

Edit: someone please fix the title! Typo!

For shame, Kittle. I've always looked to you as my spelling and grammar guru. Now I'm questioning everything.

Coop can't fix him  I'm talking about Dunn, not your typo.

I think that Dunn has earned the opportunity to try to pull his average up to .160.

And we had all the confidence in the world that He could do it.Yeah,go ahead and protect the big baby.He didn't get paid enough money this year to be embarrassed like that.

I've read in a couple of places that you can assume a hit for every PA he is short. Therefore, he would set the record, though I admittedly am not familiar with this nuance of the baseball record books.

This is not good. Ted Williams could have guaranteed his .400+ average by sitting out a game. He played the last game and got over 400 anyway. This is a different siutation in the opposite direction but the principle is the same. Maybe he can't catch Deer if he played those last two games, but the Sox should allow him to face it like a man, a $56 million one at that.

for the money he made, he ought to be sweeping the concrete at the Cell. For the rest of his time here. Grab a broom big guy!

It's not like he was going to get 6 PAs today anyway.

I don't think the term "plate appearance" has ever been more appropriate than with Adam Dunn. I mean, really, is he doing much more than just appearing? He should get a participation award.

He is the first large scale wind farm in Chicago.

Is it still too early to call him a bust?

Nah, just the first on the White Sox. I can think of a few former and/or current Sun Times employees that have blown plenty of air, hot or otherwise.

Should have been held purposely out of the lineup a long time ago, say August 1st.

Purposely? Purposefully? I don't know.

EDIT: Was the typo already fixed?

It is nice for Dunns yesterdays performance to stick fresh in my mind, in order to wet my appetite for future things to come.

Well, in all fairness, the big guy does deserve a rest. Not only did he manage to have a higher strikeout total than batting average, but he managed to get his average down to almost 20 points below that strikeout total, and I couldn't be more proud of him. .159 average, 177 strikeouts. Glorious.

Plus, with the $12 million he is being paid this year, the 66 hits he banged out this season means each hit was worth $181,818.18. If you add in his 75 walks, that means each time he reached base was worth $85,106.38. If that's not money well spent, I don't know what is.
