To make up for the pretty much universally despised Marlin Apartment Complex logo, the Blue Jays have a new logo for next year, too:

http://espn.go.com/espn/page2/index?id=7003629

It's so much of an upgrade over what the Jays have now, I think it actually cancels out the Marlins logo.

Now, if only the Brewers would bring back their old Robin Yount era logo/uniforms!

Don't forget Moseby's outfield buddies Jesse Barfield and George Bell. Thankfully, they're getting away from one of the most hideous looking uni's in baseball.

This is like the third time the Blue Jays have changed their logo in the past decade. They have a hard time making up their minds, don't they?

Good. It's a whole league better. Dave Winfield would be ecstatic. Pat Hentgen too. Now can they contend for the wild card next year? Anthopolous is known as the guy who got rid of Rios and Wells. Can he build a team like Tampa that contends in the East? They have a bigger payroll stream..

Between this and the Mets dropping most of the black from their uniforms, it's bee a pretty darn nice off-season, uni-wise.

Nice look.

I kind of wish they'd have gone to powder blue rather than road greys though.

Now if the Sox would just bring back the diamond sock on the sleeve of the road jersey I'd give an A+ to the American League uniform changes this off-season.

Now come on Reds, get rid of the black and we'll be just about clear of the Black for Black's Sake that plagued us through the late 90s and early 21st century.

It is wonderful, and I never understood why they changed it. Good for them for fixing it. As for the Marlins, I'm speechless. That is terrible.

On second note: The Blue Jays just went from perhaps the worst logo, to one of the best in the league. Amazing.

I was hoping they'd bring those back too (with the white front panel hat) but I don't think any team would do something that bold anymore. These are very, very good though. I am very glad to see that the black for black's sake is pretty much gone.

So far this offseason:
Marlins: B
Orioles: A- (points off for white front panel on hats...always thought that looked weird with white jerseys)
Blue Jays: A+

This would be a great offseason for uniforms if the Sox would come to their senses and return the diamond sock patch to the road gray jerseys, but I guess it usually takes longer than one year for teams to come to their senses on uniform changes (see: Blue Jays for the last 7-8 years, Mets' black alternates, etc.)

Edit: I swear I didn't see what PaleHoser said before posting. I guess we're on the same wavelength.

This is where I'm conflicted. I've always admired the "Ornithologically Correct Bird," but adore the camp of the "Cartoon Bird". I wish there was a way to keep both.

I think the cartoon bird is perfect on the hat, it's silly but out of the way. Wish they could have kept the ornithogically correct bird as a patch on the jersey, though.

Anyways, this off-season, I'd grade them:

Blue Jays - A+
Mets - B (not phasing the black all the way out until 2013)
Orioles - B
Marlins - F

What's funny is that the change from the cartoon bird to the correct bird was a throwback when they did it in 1989. The original Baltimore unis actually had the ornithologically correct bird. Now, they're going back to the cartoon bird again as a throwback to the 70s and 80s.

I don't own too many non-Chicago team caps, however the 2012 Blue Jays BP cap looks sweet!

Nice hat. On a trip to Canada when I was in high school I went to a couple Blue Jay games with my dad, I remember seeing the Jays blow out the Orioles and then get blown out by the Indians the next day.

Anyway, I remember picking out one of these hats because I really liked it:

...gosh I hope not. I'm not ready to live through the 70's man-perms and porn mustache era again. :D:

With the new "old" Blue Jays and Orioles uniforms, it's funny how two of my favorite all-time baseball uniforms use a bird as a mascot; i.e. Cardinals and Blue Jays. The Orioles also look pretty good now that they have brought back the cartoon head logo with the 3-color cap.

It look them about 15 years to return to their classic logo. That's about the same amount of time it took the White Sox to return to their classic "Old English" logo (1975-1990). In between, the Sox used the okay "batter" logo and went through a series of terrible uniforms.

IMO, they look pretty cool on retro merchandise. But, wouldn't look so great as the team's official logo. The current Sox "old English" logo just blows it away. I'm glad the Sox went back to it in 1990.

Oh yeah, I totally agree, these would look a little clownish 162 time per year, but I think it's a nice looking retro logo. The current Sox jerseys are perfect, they don't ever need to change again in my lifetime.
