That looks like it came straight out of a wide world of sports feature from the 80's.

The Marlins logo is not confirmed. It was put out there by @fishatbat (http://twitter.com/#%21/fishatbat). Team will announce on in November. Let's hope it's not this 1.

Hot garbage. Keep the old color scheme and bring back the straight teal hats. Those were kind of badass.

Horrible. The one they have now is great, I know they would have to change the F to an M but I'm sure some genius could figure it out.

That was my first impression, something that came from the 70's or 80's.

Nope. Try again. Better yet, don't try at all. The current logo is fine.

I hope this is a trial balloon and they'll quickly realize this is horrible.

I like their current logo and color scheme. I was hoping they'd just keep the same logo expect for using an "M" instead of an "F" next to the fish.

Those were awesome. Especially the helmets, when they were playing in the daylight with the sun shining off them.

That was the first thing I thought - it definitely has an 80's feel to it. But hey, at least it's not just blue, black and grey. I don't mind the orange and yellow at all. Especially with the white. But adding in the black in the Marlin as well as having blue is just too much. Taking out the black and yellow would improve it a lot.

I like the idea of teal coming back, but I always associate teal and orange with Miami so it would be nice if they could blend that in somewhere.

That logo was confirmed by people who have seen the new MLB Sytle Guide. That is the cap logo, and despite having so many bright colors, the Marlins will keep overusing black, including a black cap.

I love the current one. I see no reason to change it, even if they are changing venues. I know it's futuristic to them, but this is ridiculous.

This is a unanimous WSI thread so far. We all agree on it being awful. I agree with the previous poster who said it had the 1980s Wide World of Sports look to it. I can't believe a pro sports franchise would look at this logo and say, "That's the winner right there! What a great logo for our new era!".

I'm glad they're changing their name to the Miami Marlins (since there is another team in Florida they have no business using Florida in their name), but that's as bad of a logo as I've ever seen.

Actually, its (presumably) from mock-ups of a new T-shirt design for all teams. And most of them look ugly.

Even if this is real, I'll wait to see their actual uniforms before judging anything.

The marlin and the script are an improvement on what they have now. What's hideous is the M, especially the colors.

Could this be an open invite to Ozzie? The new logo being the color scheme of the Venezuelan flag.

Apparently, they're trying to attract a younger demographic with the florescent/80's hiphopster look. Half teal.

They should complete the loo by making their caps big circle shape like the Pirates caps from the 70's:

I cannot think of a single age group/market segment that would like that abomination.
