I thought that we might not see another win this year.
Nice game by AJ with 2 diingers and congrats to PK on homer #30.

- Congrats to Paulie for hitting his 30th homer of the season today.

- Kudos to AJ for hitting two homers today, with 4 RBIs.

- Great defense from Morel, Ramirez, Beckham; AJ with an awesome block of the plate.

- I always enjoy seeing the Sox win.

Congrats to Paulie on another 30 HR, 100+RBI season.

Morel had two tough defensive plays that he made look easy.

When I saw this in the scoring summary:

4th inning: A Dunn doubled to deep right, A Rios scored

I thought it was another joke courtesy of the Onion.

Wow, who didn't see this coming. The Sox finally beat Bruce Chen after they've been eliminated from contention. Watch the Sox have a winning streak to end the season and make everything all great and all hunky-dory.

I'm actually more mad than happy the Sox won today.

I chose not to set the dvr for this game. Didn't want to watch the SOX get swept. Just when you think you got them figured out. :?:

Dunn with 2 hits? Next thing you know he'll shock the world by actually hitting a home run or something...

Hawk was actually happy that Dunn had struck out only once in the series in 11 at-bats. Then Dunn struck out. Give him a credit. Before striking out, he hit shot off the right field wall that was inches foul. When looking for hope, you have to look anywhere.

Yeah, the Dunn shot almost had a chance to hook around the pole if it was higher ...would have been back-to-back-to-back HRs.

Don't think of it as a double to deep right, think of it as an almost homer.

Don't forget about the SECOND hit he had off left-handed pitching in the sixth!

Interesting that after the back-to-back HR by Konerko and Pierzynski the next 5 batters struck out. Sox disease in a nutshell.

Yeah, after that happened I thought the end of the world was going to start happening, or at least a natural disaster like a small earthquake.

Danks is finishing the season on a sloppy note. He wasn't sharp at all, but the offense got him a win.

Of course the offense has screwed Danks over too many times to count this year, so he deserves to have one ugly victory.

Whatever is happening now, good or bad, is completely irrelevant. The season is over.

I wonder what salary he's going to get in his final year of arbitration and what his future holds as far as staying with the Sox as he approaches free agency.

While I'd hate to lose Danks, he hasn't quite turned into the stud pitcher that I was hoping he would be.

Whatever happens from here on out, I'm rooting for them to win the rest of their games this season.

I'm rooting for them to finish < .500- I don't want a .500 season to give anyone the impression that there was anything remotely positive about 2011.

Our current winning percentage puts us slightly behind the 1998, 1997, 2009, and 1971 teams. Slightly ahead of the 1987, 1995 and 1973 teams.

Absolutely, we'll all fondly remember the 2011 Sox and their 84-win effort.

I won't, but I root for them to win every game just the same. Just like Sox management did not think last year's team was good enough, I doubt that they will think this year's team was good enough even if they win the last 11 games.

Say what you will but not one of us will forget this team just because of how frustrating and disappointing they were. Gotta give them that much.
