To be fair (and I am not advocating ACTUAL violence against anyone man or woman) domestic violence laws are pretty crazy. I have zero knowledge of this situation or the Everett one... but I do have knowledge of friends who have been caught up in "domestic violence" crap because they had an everyday fight that escalated to something as simple as throwing a shoe at someone. Or punching a wall, etc.

They made up, they remain a happy enough couple today (if not a bit high strung), but the man was treated like a wifebeater by the courts. I know the woman very well, and I know she's not lying when she says she never felt threatened by him. Their fight just got out of hand.
