Sports "journalism" in Chicago is dead.

What's sad is this probably doesn't crack the top 10 for worst Sun Times columns of the year. I mean we had Rick Telander (at least I think it was him) write a serious column saying we need to protect athletes' heads so their brains are intact when we go to war with the machines after they rise ala Terminator. He was being 100% serious too.

There's a lot more bunting in the NL and they already have a SS who doesn't always have his head in the game. Perfect match.

Rick Morrissey's strategy here:

-Throw poo.

-See what sticks and what reactions it generates.

It is impossible for a writer to crack the top 10 worst columns for the Sun Times as long as Rick Telander is working there. He has completely lost his mind. He wrote last week that Rahm shouldn't be a Cubs fan because Rod Blagojevich was a Cubs fan and that resulted in him going to jail. I can't remember the last time I read one of his articles and didn't question what I just read.

Everyone knows that clowns like Marriotti, Cowleyotti and Morrissey produce nothing but tabloid trash, yet Telander somehow has the title of "respected journalist?" I wonder how many people actually read his columns.

I find it telling, that he is writing a book about Ozzie Guillen.

At least Big Z would have someone to get drunk with the next time he got suspended.

Why does any Sox fan read the Sun Times sports section? Seriously? I know the Tribune is bad enough, but the Sun Times has always featured boneheaded reporters who write **** comparable to the biased **** that has historically been found in the Tribune.

The only problem is that the Cubs fans don't have a World Series monument to piss on when they get drunk.

Is there any way that we can get the cubs to hire Kenny Williams ?

I would absolutely love this. My senses are already finely tuned to filtering out everything Cub, so I wouldn't have to adjust a thing.
