The sound you hear is the value of his contract dropping.

Look, if they are having difficulty finding a place to play him, we can probably find a spot in our lineup to insert him.

In three years time this will be, by far, the worst contract in baseball; if not sooner.

From the looks of it, the Twins have some hilarious situation where two guys on the active roster are injured and a guy who was called up couldn't make it in time. There are no plans to move him to RF for an extended period of time.

But otherwise, I agree that the contract was horrible. They were in a catch 22 because they HAD to resign him, but to have the back and knee problems at his age, along with mysterious injuries over the past couple of years, his window for being elite is going to close quickly and he won't be able to play catcher in a few years.

He makes an average of about 25M per the rest of his career. That's Rios and Dunn, combined, for another 5 seasons. That's going to really hurt at some point if he is hitting .290/8/65 and playing RF/1B.

Another 7 seasons. The contract runs through 2018.

I think we have enough disappointingly ****ty hitters in our lineup for now.

He's turned into Mark Grace with a higher batting average, less power, and a weaker glove. And yes, I'd love to have him if we didn't have to pay the bill.

Must think he's Lillibridge.
