There is no way any of the coaches deserve to stay on board for the future. JM, Nardi, Ward, and Pettis have all been horrible this year. As for the players, the lack of development by most of them is scary. Rowand, Liefer, Wright, and Glover all have taken steps back from last year. One can even argue that Buehrle has not been as effective this year. Only Garland and Konerko seem to have improved in the last year or so. With the amount of young guys that will be playing in the future, we need a coaching staff that specializes in development of young guys.

What about the coaches in the minor league system? There are few people on this board who seem to have a great deal of knowledge about the minor league system. I'd be curious as to their assessment of the minor league coaching. For example, there were an awful lot of injuries in our pitching staff over the past few years.

I agree.

As for Rowand, he needs to get more consistent playing time. He was a full time player in the minors and he was never given that shot here. That is why a lot of minor leaguers can't cut it. PLayers like Tony Graffanino have become accustomed to only playing every couple days, but guys like Rowand and Liefer haven't. So its hard to judge them until they geta good chance.
