I like how one series isn't staggered anymore, where two teams can get away with a 3-man rotation in the first round without short rest involved. At least everyone has to go with a 4-man, which is fair.

Man, I'll really love Saturday October 1st. All four series being played on the same day!

I really don't like how every league is doing the 2-3-2 format for the finals.

It has been that way for several years.

In baseball, it's been that way for many years. And, really, putting more travel into a seven-game postseason series is ridiculous.

What, no November baseball this year? I think a November World Series with Minnesota vs Colorado would be great.

I like the 2-3-2 format for championship series when there is often no good way to really give home-field, like the World Series. Sure, the easy thing to do is say "best record," but that doesn't work since there is little crossover between leagues. The Phillies will likely finish the season with he #1 record in the Majors, but is that because they are the best team, or because they have fattened up on National League teams all year? FWIW, they are playing at a .658 winning percentage right now, .667 vs the National League and .600 vs. the American League.

No it's not, it's not 1950 any more, teams don't travel by bus and train, these guys are taking private jets that never sit on runways, never get stuck in taxi lines, and always make a B-line straight for an exit after landing. Adding potentially two extra days of travel to the modern athlete is not going to affect anything.

The 2-3-2 format gives a competitive advantage to the lower seeded team. It's absolutely ridiculous to argue in its defense.

Only the NBA does that outside of MLB. The NHL is 2-2-1-1-1.

Were baseball not an everyday sport, the 2-2-1-1-1 might make some sense. But baseball is played on consecutive days, so the 2-2-1-1-1 adds extra travel days that disrupt the rhythm. In other sports, the normal day off becomes the travel day, so the rhythm they're used to doesn't change.

Sox play 10 games in the last 9 days of the season, due to the makeup doubleheader on Sept 20 vs the Tribe. That rain-out in Cleveland really does come back to bite the Sox. They were playing great that weekend and could have swept the Tribe, but now they have to go to the six man rotation to get thru that last 9 days....ouch.

There'll be alotta overlapping on those 4-game days. Fans of TNT fluff programming will not be happy.

Games 3 and 4 of the world series fall on the same dates, of the last time the world series was at the cell. Not that it matters just ineresting

I wonder if the White Sox/Red Sox ALDS game on September 30th will be in prime time?

It'll be so weird not seeing the regular season end on a Sunday.

I hear you. I wonder if Fan Appreciation Day will even sell out this year if the game is meaningless for the Sox.

A couple of nights ago I had a dream...

White Sox lead Boston 2 games to 1 going into Game 4 of the ALDS...( Chicago had won the first 2 at Fenway)

Boston leads 3-0 in the ninth but Papelbon loads the bases...

Then gives up a Grand Slam to Adam Dunn

(no more egg rolls after 1 AM)

Where did you get those egg rolls? Maybe Dunn could include them in his diet. What the hell, nothing else has worked.
