Holds the record for lowest average by a position player.... .139
Once went 46 at-bats without a hit a record as well but Milwaukee’s Craig Counsell is threatening it at 0 for 45. Lifetime average - .170 ( and he played 11 seasons )

Interesting that Bergen was so strong defensively (threw out 47% of attempted steals)-Dunn's horrible season combined with poor defensive skills could make his season one of the worst all time.

Wow, I feel so much better now that Dunn probably won't be as bad as someone who hasn't played in 100 years! Awesome!

Just noticed Counsell hasn't had a hit since June 10th in limited duty.

Stephen Colbert talked about this last night on his show. He ragged Dunn pretty well.

His brother Marty is also famous-he was a catcher for Boston from 1896-99. In January, 1900 he killed his wife and two children with an axe before slitting his own throat with a straight edge razor.

"Watching White Sox baseball has also been known to make people want to take a razor to their throats."
