There are odds? I thought that was a given. I'm surprised they don't send De Aza down after that performance.

this game was over before we even had an at bat.......wow

Is there anything to be happy about right now for this fan base? I mean, is there any reason to be optimistic at all? We have no elite players, our young players on the major league roster are nothing to be fired up about IMO, our farm system is bleak, our manager is an epic *******, our front office appears to be completely dysfunctional, and we are facing a payroll slash of epic proportions for next year

its getting really hard to stay on board with this regime, I mean we are not just a bad team, we appear to be hopeless.....

this season if for sure one of my darkest times of being a fan/supporter of this team

We lasted at the ballpark all the way through the 6th - only because we wanted to get the Daley ball which they started giving out in the 7th inning.

I would have replaced Alex Rios right in the first inning immediately after he threw to third on the sac fly. WHAT A BUM!!!

Turned off my phone updates last night after the third inning and a complete realization of this franchise and its refusal to care and change. I figure if it's not going to care then I sure as hell won't.

Never have hated a White Sox team more than I hate this one. I am embarrassed to be a fan of this team and if I go to another game I will definitely wear a paper bag.

Oh and just so you guys remember, Dunn and Rios said they would put the team on their backs.

If it were me, probably Kenny whose recent acquisitions (specifically Rios and Dunn) have been more misses and less hits. I'd let Ozzie go to Florida and manage the Fighting Fish; allow him to take what I expect will be an open Florida job and be able to leave the White Sox gracefully (on the surface). I'd bring in a top notch general manager from another ballclub, let that new general manager hire a new manager and coaching staff. I would also charge the new general manager with the task of reconstructing the minor league system to make it the best in baseball. Our minors seem to generally languish under Kenny, if I am not mistaken.

Greg Walker.

As much as I would love to say "Ozzie", I know they're stuck with him for the rest of this year. The offense, under Walker's watch, has been one of the most inconsistent, frustrating, all-or-nothing pieces of garbage I've ever seen, except for this year, when we can't even get that occasional "all" game.

For me, the defining moment came in the first inning. Bases loaded, no outs. Teixeira hits a fly ball to CF. As Rios camped under it, I yelled at the TV, "Second base! Second base!" Rios threw it to third and gave the trail runner an extra base again.

I know Sox management thinks the fans are stupid. Granted, I did not play professional baseball, nor am I qualified to manage at the MLB level. But basic understanding of game situations was something we went over time and time again when I was in Little League and Pony League back in the day. It's infuriating that someone making $12 million to play the game of baseball doesn't know what the average 13-year-old playing CF knows.

Since the Sox mailed it in tonight, I mailed in the TBGR (http://www.whitesoxinteractive.com/rwas/index.php?category=4&id=4176)too. Hell, the mods didn't even bother to name a PTC, and I don't blame them. I gave De Aza the nod. Four hits, that's about a month's worth for Adam Dunn.

Awesome post, man.

I pitied you having to cover this crap. I see you gave it the amount of coverage it deserved.

De Aza was the only bright spot today. Sure, Quentin hit that 3-run homer, but really, isn't that what he should be doing? But, as reiterated numerous times, De Aza will grab some bench so that Rios can "justify" his contract.

I can't really say anything that hasn't already been said in this thread. Changes need to be made but I fear as most do, that nothing will happen. This will be the third straight year we sit out October with a team talented enough to make it there. It is truly fitting that this happened after the July 31st deadline too and now KW is limited to waiver trades only. What a difference a 5 game losing streak can make on a season.

BainesHOF

Yet another dumb throw by Rios and yet another half-assed attempt to field a ball by Rios. I can't recall another player being allowed to embarrass himself and the team by blatantly dogging it for so long.

By contrast, not only did De Aza go 4 for 4, but the most impressive things about his game tonight were two hustle plays, backing up Rios after Rios let the ball get by him after a half-hearted attempt to grab it and taking second base on a hit to right even though the throw hit the cutoff man.

Perhaps the most pathetic moment came after the game. Guillen started the postgame by yucking it up about how he just lost $100.

Understandable, JB, just about all of us are in the same boat if you look at it that way. I didn't play pro ball either, but playing baseball from the age of 6 until senior year of high school, hitting the cutoff man was always taught every year. For an MLB player of Rios' "caliber" to make this mistake multiple times is inexcusable. Then later, he makes a fairly half-hearted attempt to make a shoestring catch, which of course ends up in extra bases. The guy's a bum. Then watching Ozzie laugh about the game in the postgame interview makes me wonder why I even still turn it on in the first place.

Not too often that I don't tune and watch an entire White Sox game that is on a national broadcast, but when I got home from out-of-town and turned on the TV to see it was 8-1 in the 3rd inning (only to become 13-1), I turned the TV off and caught up on some paperwork.

It's hard to say I hate this team, because the White Sox are my favorite team - but this team just plain sucks! My one hope, is if this epic slide continues, the fans refuse to turn out and leave JR to make a decision on the direction of this franchise ASAP!

I agree. I was never a pro either, but when I did play, I went over all the possible situations in my head before the pitch; ie, who was on base, what base they were on, how fast they were, what base I would throw to if the ball came to me, etc. Seeing Rios trotted out there every day (Konerko injury will be the excuse for the past few games), and then seeing the idiot that PUTS him out there every day cutting up like nothing matters, then seeing the guy that is his boss "threatening" the fans, well it just makes for a huge **** dinner that quite frankly I'm getting sick of eating. Last year Frank Thomas day was my last game, and it's close to being so again this year. The only amusement I got out of this game was when Bruney got launched for arguing the call on that bang bang play at first base. Hawk was so disgusted and pissed, he let out a "Ahh...jeesus chri........"

Clever of Bruney to get himself thrown out rather than absorb some innings and take a beating. I think that is the kind of bull**** that should get a marginal pitcher like Bruney released.

I said this in a recently roadhoused post, but the D-Backs cleaned house in the middle of last summer and tell me where they are today.....Now, I'm just sayin'......

A move that could potentially decrease the age and improve this ball club makes no sense.

duh.
