NY Daily News ponders that the White Sox are 38-29 since May 7th and 6-1 against Indians and wonders why they still below .500

I also didn't know that the Twins are 1-12 vs Detroit this year :?:

9. Detroit Tigers (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/Detroit+Tigers) (54-47, last week No. 12): Have a two game lead in AL West (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/AL+West) for the first time all season.

Well, if the Tigers are in the West, looks like the Sox' record against AL Central rivals is a touch better than we thought...

Clearly its because the Twins are mentally weak, don't work on fundamentals during spring training, are gutless and lack vocal leaders. Also, I've heard Bert Blyleven never stops complimenting the Tigers during the Twins broadcasts -- this is a major factor on why Detroit owns the Twins.

No offense, but so do some New Englanders. Worked for a company HQ'ed in Boston that divided its profiling group for its nationwide company between East and West, and Baltimore was in the West.

That's because they're not

True. It's 1-8, not 1-12. Teams still have 2 more series to play each other in Detroit (August 15-17, September 9-11) and 1 more in Minnesota (August 26-28).

Tigers won the last 4 meetings in 2010, hence the 1-12.

Also, I've heard Bert Blyleven never stops complimenting the Tigers during the Twins broadcasts -- this is a major factor on why Detroit owns the Twins. The Tigers are more talented than this Twins team and the majority of their wins against the Twins came at a time when their lineup was 7/9 Rochester Red Wings (those same minor leaguers who swept the Sox earlier). Besides, the Tigers haven't had a winning record against the Twins any of the last three seasons, and only did so twice since 2003, the same timeframe in which the Sox have been unable to beat the Twins. But other than those facts, you're spot-on.

Does anyone remember beating Detroit twice to start the half?

They are talking about the Twinkies, who are 1-8 vs. Detroit.
