First off sounds like a lot of what folks are writing here, particularly about there simply not being a "buzz" around this club:

Then here is Gonzo's mailbag, pretty interesting questions / answers, including about Pierre and that Dunn is working with Walker:

Ozzie: "If we continue to play the way we are, we'll be fine," apparently because there are a "lot of games to play".

I'm sorry, but you just lost two out of three games to the Nationals. The Sox are going to have to play a lot better than that, even to win this division.

It's like Ozzie is saying nothing to see here. Move along. Next question. That frankly is to me a microcosmic picture of the first half of the White Sox season. This "stinking thinking" after reading KW's comments from another thread indicates to me that this mindset resonates from the top down.

Sox are 1-9 against Detroit and Minnesota...if that doesn't change, nothing much matters does it?

And remember Ozzie's the guy who said there's "nothing you can do" to curtail Minnesota stealing bases at will against the Sox. He talks about fundamentals (constantly it seems every off season) but apparently can't teach them...another major issue with this team.

I didn't realize Getz had 10 sacrifice bunts for the Royals (i.e. Gonzo's column)

While I'm thinking about it, the Sox are about to hit the halfway point in the season (82 games ). Just a comparison over the recent history:

2005: 56-26
2006: 53-29
2007: 37-45
2008: 46-36
2009: 42-40
2010: 44-38
2011: ??? (at best they'll be 41-41)

Shouldn't the halfway point be 81 games? 81 x 2 = 162 Minor quibble. I am surprised that this will be only the second time they've been under .500 at the halfway point of the season since '05.

Sounds like something Kenny Williams is suffering from after signing Dunn..!!
