Didn't he get suspended for PEDs in the past?

He was traded seven years ago.

Would you have wanted the Sox without Freddy in 2005?

It is pretty amazing that seven years later that he's putting up those kind of numbers when so many people were ready to jump out of a window after losing Jeremy Reed and Olivo.

Homefish was especially sad about trading Olivo IIRC. There was some Billy Beane worshiper who cried over Reed too. Damn that was a fun time.

Mike Morse was a throw in, a big guy with good power potential that was not willing to move from SS to 1B in the Sox system, had he been willing to make that switch the Sox may have kept him to try and improve his value.

Morse did get a rip for testing positive for PEDs a few years back.

He has a lifetime .837 OBPS.

He looks to be the next Jayson Werth. Another late-bloomer who has a .838 OBPS.

I agree with most of the postings though. How do you question this at both the time of the trade or now? Did the trade put SEA in the position to contend with Morse? Please...

No one questioned the trade. One of the initial posters wrongfully assumed the OP was questioning the trade.
