Big story at the Tribune web site. Moose apparently has been fighting lung cancer. He's 80. My thoughts are with him, enjoyed spending time with him watching one of the games last summer.

Nice man, amazing stories.

I've met Moose a couple times. Nice guy and he is a hoot to be around. I wish him a speedy recovery.

I always enjoy it when he comes on the radio during the game with Farmio and DJ. It's always great to hear his stories. I hope he gets better soon.

I hope he beats it. Moose is a great guy, and I always love it when he joins Farmer or Hawk in the booth. Sadly, lung cancer is a nasty one and the odds aren't in his favor.

The article in the OP is great, I recommend everyone opens the link and reads it.

Sorry to hear it; always one of the most favored Sox, on or off the field.

My prayers are with you Moose !!!!! This gentleman is a testament of what has been right about the great national pastime. Met him as well in my yute, at golf outings when I returned home and at his resturant in Cicero. Class Act... Yes, that 64 season would have been sweeter had he crushed just one more heater..

Lip.. I think he hated Eddie cause they were peers of the game and he had about just as much or more knowledge of the game as the Skipper. Put it with the fact that he had played for Casey and Al and I could see some eye rolling in the dugout, and in Eddie's Office... He had the goods..didnt need to be treated/motivated as a Rook..
