That is insane. Was Steve Phillips the worst GM in baseball history?

Bonilla's agent was Jeff Borris, who also represented Barry Bonds, Jose Canseco, Curt Schilling, and Rickey Henderson.

I think just for this alone the answer is yes. How do you turn a $6 M buyout into $30 M? That makes the prime rate look like spare change.

The biggest shocker from that article is that he's getting $200K a year "working" for the MLBPA? With all the former players out there not living the high life but paving the way for the modern player you'd think they'd do more to take care of those guys instead of setting up a guy who already made $50 million plus getting over $1 million annually today.
