Well, that didn't take long.

Yeah really. I accidentally ran into a discussion on the radio this weekend about how if Haffner and Sizemore stay healthy and/or perform like they used to, Cleveland would have a good chance at maintaining their pace.

That is exactly what I was going to post, verbatim.

Looks like they really missed his bat tonight (http://scores.espn.go.com/mlb/boxscore?gameId=310516107).

Somebody forgot to tell the Indians that an MLB team's offense is supposed to be comatose for the first couple months of the season.

Weather.

Also, the Indians apparently have something called "organizational depth." What an odd concept.

Oh boy I can't wait until Vin Mazzarro shuts the Sox down for 1 run and 4 hits over 8 innings.

:bandance:It's been done. I don't remember the season, but Mazzarro stands out in my head along with such aces as John Rheinecker, Radhames Liz and the washed up 350lb version of Livan Hernandez who have dominated this Walkerballing clown car.

Pretty sure it was with the A's last season.

I think it was '09. Same series where we called Beckham up.

Wow. Now, if Cleveland loses 5 more starters the Sox might catch them.

The Sox farm system is probably the biggest failure of Kenny Williams's tenure.

Just because most prospects never turn out to be major league stars doesn't mean the Sox should continue to have a barren farm system....and this team is paying for it by being a 2nd or 3rd place team in a not-so-tough division in most seasons. The Indians and Twins seem to know how to bring along new talent to get back into the playoff hunt. The Tigers aren't bad at developing talent. Even Kansas City now seems to have turned the corner on home grown talent (of course the jury is still out on that).

But, at the White Sox, we just get year after year of Josh Fields, Brian Anderson and Kyle McCullouch. Yayyy! Our most talented prospect in recent years (Beckham) is floundering.

Really, the most successful Sox prospects in recent years are doing a fine job in the majors.......for Oakland. Gio and Ryan Sweeney look pretty good. But Kenny traded them away for some magic beans.
