I know a lot of people around here roll their eyes whenever they hear "Bleacher Report", but if the Sox don't get back in the pennant race, what would you say to this deal?

I know nothing about those prospects except what I very briefly saw after reading that article, and I'd do it. Buehrle is really no front-line starter anymore.

I don't think that Buehrle is a front-end starter anymore either. If we get Sonteburner out of a deal, I would consider that a steal. His secondary pitches need work, especially the slider, but he will be dangerous if he can get those down.

I'm a fan of Slade, but seems like an overpay for Mark. Also, Bleacher Report is garbage.

I've never heard of any of those guys. And the thought of Buehrle in Yankee pinstripes makes me sick...

A lot of injury concerns there. As much as I hate to see Mark with another team, I would want to know if he's going to be back with the Sox in 2012 or not. If he isn't, I would definitely make this deal if it meant improving the team for the future. I would also do the same with any other person I didn't think would be back in 2012: maybe Jackson or Pierre; although I don't think anone is making a play for Pierre.

Their Thornton for Theriot trade is just dumb, IMO.

Mark would refuse that trade. I believe last year he said he was only willing to play for two teams. I bet you can guess which 2.

That article also recommends that we trade Thornton to STL for Theriot.

Excuse me while I go vomit.

That's exactly the hole this team has... Middle infielders who can't hit.

Whatever happened to that Grebeck guy ? the one who claimed to have known about every single minor leaguer out there ? he would have had the scoop on these 3 Yankee prospects.

I have been wondering the same thing myself.

Does it pay well?

I understand the interest in trade rumors, although frequently they are unfounded. I understand discussing players you want to see your team pick up. But I don't see any point to trade proposals that have no connection with reality.

I think the Sox would have to get one of the Yankees prospect catchers in return.

You probably have a bridge in Brooklyn that you want to sell me too...

At the minimum....you get Montero or Romine.

It would take Danks to pry Montero out of the Yankees' hands. And, at this point, I'm not adverse to that move.

And Danks might not be enough for Montero if his defense improves.

I thought Quentin to the Braves for a decent Pitching prospect, It works better if Q gets hot again and Sox are out of the race

I can't imagine them giving up Minor, but that would be awesome.

The bigger problem, though, would be the Braves actually staying in the race.

With their pitching staff, I think they will. I also think they might win the division.
