Simple question. 5 weeks into the season what are you most surprised by, team wise?

I am most astonished that the Sox have lost so many games, despite solid starting pitching, including really great work from Humber.

Indians, White Sox, Twins...in that order.

Indians, obviously. Carmines' poor start. Sox, Twins obviously. Pirates treading water is a little surprising. Other than that, things look to form.

Tampa showing that they still have some talent by recovering from the first couple weeks.

I think you need to add Tampa Bay to the poll..... they recovered nicely from 0-6

The Rays have 10 of the first 60 picks in the draft! How the hell did that happen?

You lose players to free agency - you get lots of picks

I've been wondering why so many seem to think that the Indians and Royals will be lousy forever.

Because they suck

I'm only 22, so to me, the Royals have always sucked. What reason do I have to believe that they'll be any better than what they are, when they've failed to make the playoffs in the last 26 years?

Basically, they are in a position where people don't necessarily believe that they'll suck "forever," but they have to prove to people that they will eventually become better. People aren't going to give them the benefit of the doubt that "oh, they'll get better someday" anymore. Since they've gone so long without making the postseason, they have lost just about every bit of credibility they have, and they have to regain that trust. They have to go out and prove they are good not for just the first six weeks of a season, but all 162. Plus, they'll have to back that up in the following season by proving that they aren't a fluke. Only then will they regain their credibility.

Not forever, but for the time being.

Not forever, but for the time being. I hope you and everyone else who feels that way is right. It shortens the long odds on the Sox making a season of it after such a disastrous start.

I figured by this point in the season the Indians would have the worst record in baseball. Instead, they have the best record. Can I redo my preseason predictions?

Why are the angels even involved in this poll?
