Could the bottom of the order be what wakes this lineup out of it's long slumber with the lumber?

Great effort by both Buehrle and Santos.

The defense is looking a little tighter too.

Glad to see some breaks fall our way for a change.

Now let's start playing some solid, consistent, winning baseball!! :bandance::bandance:

Good title. Either that or "Sweepless in Seattle".

Let's hope we've seen the end of corpseball.

Great win today on Mother's Day! :bandance:

Santos is our savior! Great game and series. Won the last two games without a home run. And we are going to hit a ton of home runs before this season is over.

Konerko 5-5! W@W! Rios is hitting now. Hopefully Dunn comes around soon.

Just keep playing some good ball. Plenty of time to get back in the race.

When was the last time the Sox won a series this season?

Santos has earned the closer's job. Is Ozzie smart enough to realize this?

Thanks to his batting average and HR and RBI stats among the league leaders, the player formerly known as GIDPK is threatening to earn the TriPaul Crown.

Wow, 2 in a row and a series win! Looks like the bats are waking up.

Paul Konerko is my hero, pink cleats and all. :superman:

I love seeing Morel picking it up at the plate...and Gordon too.

A few of the breaks went the Sox' way for once. I like. Let's do this some more in Anaheim!:gulp:

I left the gamethread to go outside to play with my son.

Came back just in time to catch a wonderful White sox winner!

Thank you, White sox for your fantastic Mother's Day present - I love it!

Konerko should continue wearing those pink spikes. That was a nice win but I am still dubious that this team has turned any corner. We still struggle scoring runs and Seattle is not exactly a world beater out there.

Last series win was the home opener with Tampa a month ago. Since then the Sox went 0-6-1 in series until today.

Any win right now is a God-send.

The Sox have held their opponents to three runs or less in six straight games. If there is any reason for hope, that would be it.

Of course, a stretch of good pitching like that normally results in a 5-1 or 6-0 record. The Sox went 3-3.

Konerko is hitting consistently, as usual. He needs some others to join him on a daily basis.

The way this team has played, that concept strikes me as impossible. Amazing that a team with players that have track records of decent to very good offensive ability can have me think that way.

Nice to actually win a game late. This is our first win in our last at bat since Alexei went yard in the 10th vs. Oakland.

Seattle had won 8 of 10 coming into last night's game, and had momentum after winning the first game on a walk off hit. Throw in the fact that we always struggle in Seattle, makes this an improbable series win.

Let's go boys, one game at a time.

Cleveland has to play TB next. Rays have been hot after their bad 1-8 start. Hopefully, Rays can at least win that series in Cleveland.

White Sox have to get on a hot streak. Time for beat the Angels.

Maybe, when all is said and done this kind of a post will be looked at with a very very long smile (nothing against you and no I am not saying we are the roxors again just would be nice).

I will not, and refuse to give this team any optimist shred of me until I see a record of .500 on the board. Go on a streak, win 6 in a rown, go 13-4, go 20-6. All daunting right but that's as simple as going 4-1 and somewhere in June we could be 6 or 7 games over.

Fools hope maybe, but I am looking for something here.

Could have been a sweep, even though the lost game was a Humber start against Felix Hernandez. Friday I expected Thornton to get through the ninth and the Mariners bullpen to break in extra innings, much as the Mariners bullpen broke today.

After losing to Hernandez, the Sox hit .377 for the rest of the series, addressing fans' concerns about the low team batting average if no scoring huge numbers of runs. Today Konerko went five for five, including two hits with runners in scoring postion, but had no RBIs.

Buehrle was great today, coming off a great outing in his last start, but I was concerned that the Sox weren't taking advantage of their scoring opportunities. I found it interesting that two of the three players who didn't contribute to the 17-hit attack Saturday night were out of the lineup Sunday. Castro was going to start against the southpaw on an afternoon game after a night game, of course. But Quentin seemed to need the day off. I thought Ramirez might have needed a day off, considering his offense lately. Friday night he couldn't get Beckham in from third with one out, and Saturday he didn't pay any better. But his impressive long at bats today and his eventual game winning hit were impressive, especially considering how hard it was to walk Ramirez a couple of years ago.

More impressive than anything the offense did in the last two games, though is the starting pitching in the last week, even though the White Sox were only 3-3 from Monday through Sunday.

The offense seems to be coming around. Dunn still doesn't have a hit against a left-handed pitcher since coming to the American League. I'm not sure why League stayed in to face Dunn when Laffey cam in to face Konerko after Dunn's double anyway. But that wasn't what ultimately decided the game, and you've got to figure Dunn is due.

I hear a lot of analysts who say the White Sox hitting will come around. Fortunately, there's a lot of season left.

They won yesterday for a win, they won today for 2 in a row, if they win tomorrow we can call it a winning streak.

Buehrle pitched another good, efficient game; I'm glad this one resulted in a White Sox winner. Too bad Buehrle couldn't get the win.

I liked Guillen's pitching decisions/personnel in this game.

Konerko goes 5-5.

Ha, I thought of that too on the heels of Friday's 'Lifeless in Seattle' possible-title staring BJ Ryan and someone on SEA with a name sounding like Tom Hanks but couldn't find one, even with John Danks a strong possibility on our end if he would have played a hand in the game.

First time since 1962 (Aparicio) a Sox player had five hits in a game and failed to drive in a run.

Lip

Aparicio was leading off that day against the A's and only scored one run with no RBIs despite getting five hits. He did get one hit with a runner on second, but the runner was held and scored on a Nellie Fox sacrifice fly. Konerko hitting cleanup got five hits, two with runners in scoring position, but drove in none and scored just one run.

I didn't see the 1962 game, though, only read the box score.

The Aparicio five-hit game I remember was in 1970, but he scored three and drove in three. It helped that he was batting second in that game behind Walt "No-Neck" Williams who had five hits, scored five runs and drove in three more. Aparicio had a chance for six hits in that game, but because the game was a blowout, Don Gutteridge put in Syd O'Brien on defense, and he doubled in a run in a four-run eighth.

One would think it would be hard to go 5-for-5 and be involved in only one run, but the White Sox won Sunday and they won the 1962 Aparicio game.
