Perfect game is over, still has the no hitter through 7.1.

Live look in on MLB network.

Double play gets him to the ninth, he's faced the minimum.

No-hitter!

Only 4 Ks for him today, but he was dialing up 100 in the 9th.

That's an ace. Must be nice.

Must be nice to have run support like that, making Verlander feel more comfortable to have great games like this.

Hat's off to him. And that is his second no-no. He is tough.

Not only does he have the stuff, he knows how to pitch.

I rememeber when he was like 2-8 against the White Sox.

I think he has won 7-8 straight against us since then.

Now, since it's old news, we never have to think about the Liriano no-hitter again, right?

Right? :(:

If that defines an ace the Sox have two.

That alone doesn't make him an ace.

 back at you.

Verlander is awesome. With Grienke gone he is probably the best pitcher in the entire AL Central.

I would take one step higher and say he's the best pitcher in the AL.

I think Felix is the best in the AL right now. Verlander isn't far behind. You could make an argument for both really.

I wouldn't take it that far. I don't see how you can make that argument when in Verlander's best season he had an ERA of 3.37, when guys like Felix or Jered Weaver or even Jon Lester have career ERAs around or lower than that. That said, I'd still take Verlander over anyone we have except for maybe Danks every day of the week.

Verlander's developed a slider over the last year. He said he got it specifically for Jim Thome..... first time he threw it to him, as a member of the Sox, he hit a bomb. Obviously he's perfected it since.

Buehrle did the same thing in Minnesota after his perfect game. He holds the record for most consecutive batters retired though as a result.

Yeah it's too bad he blew up and lost that game.

This is true.

But your signature really does suck.

Didn't Jenks have the record before him?

HAHA, I can't help it if there's nothing on the field the guy can do to make me like him.
