That's great news. Glad to see them able to keep their best player

He is now guaranteed 145 million(approx) over the next 10 years. 14.5 million a year for one of the best LF hitters in baseball is a good deal(and could look really good in 6 years), assuming he stays healthy.

Also, it's nice to see an elite player resign a small market team. This basically locks him up for the rest of his career. It's rare in this day and age to see his type of loyalty from an elite player.

He was gone long before this deal. Once he rejected the Brewers 5 year, 100 Million dollar offer, there was no chance he was coming back. That's when Melvin started locking up Corey Hart, Rickie Weeks and now Braun.

Man, I didn't know that about Prince. I wonder if he'll command much more than that in free agency if he only has a decent season this year. That's a lot of money.

I doubt he gets 5/100

Baseball Tonight said that he and Boras were looking for 8 years at 200m. I lol'd. :rolling:

Someone will pay that kind of money, but really the guy can't play defense at all and is in danger of eating himself out of the game.

Don't tell Peter Gammons that! he was on the score this morning and said Prince is a GREAT defensive first baseman.

He's played in all but 12 games in the last 5 years. If anything he is the epitome of staying healthy enough to play baseball.

True, but he'll be 28 by may of next year. All the weight he carries is going to start to catch up with him.
