Bacardi at the Park is cheesy enough, but the Gold Coast Tickets Club? The area formerly known as the Home Plate Club, then the Jim Beam Club, then the Home Plate Club, will now be the Gold Coast Tickets Club. Come on already.

Whatever, it's money for the Sox. People went berserk when U.S. Cellular bought the park's naming rights, I don't think anyone is complaining now.

I dont care what places are called anymore but calling it the old name in a press conference, when it has a new current name can cause confusion.

I think the Sox should refuse the extra revenue from advertising, because it's just too many name changes.

I don't get the problem here. They gave the Sox a ton of $$$$. If it was the Donkey's Ass Club that gave the money, it would not bother me, either.

They have the StubHub seats in the BSB patio, does that offend you, too? Or are you a shareholder in StubHub, hence the "problem" with the competition getting their name in the park?

I don't have a problem with selling naming rights, I just think they weren't well thought out. Just an opinion though. I think the Bacardi Club sounds better than Bacardi at the Park. I don't have a stake in Stubhub and Gold Coast sponsoring the area doesn't necessarily bother me, but I do have season tickets there and if I sell Gold Coast Club tickets, I don't want people thinking they're buying from Gold Coast Tickets.

I agree with you on the name for the new venture on 35th Street. I was thinking the name "Bacardi Club" is already used for something else. It seems like it might be used (http://www.google.com/#hl=en&sugexp=llsfp&xhr=t&q=Bacardi+Club&cp=10&pf=p&sclient=psy&aq=0&aqi=&aql=&oq=Bacardi+Clu&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=f6470e4d0f8b4ab9), albeit in other countries.

It could be worse. It could be named after that Harry Balz guy.

That shouldn't matter too much. Doesn't Yankee Stadium have a Jim Beam Club?

Same or similar function. The "Bacardi Club" does not appear to have anything to do with baseball or sports.

Can't dilute the brand name with multiple, unrelated, uses.

It's always Comiskey Park to me.

The real Comiskey Park got bulldozed in 1990. This current park was never an imitation, it was an ugly, sterile eyesore until U.S. Cellular came in and help pay for the renovations. I'm happy they sold the name away. It's 1,000x better now.

Heck, if it gives Kenny more cash to play with, no problem.

Besides, disliking the name is OK. I'm not a fan of this sponsor, so I'm going to call the area the "scalper seats"... :D:

dumb choice, but i guess Gold Coast Tickets made enough money scalping hawks tickets the last 2 years to make this work.

I don't see how gains on Blackhawks tickets would affect profitability of naming rights for the Home Plate Club/Jim Beam Club/GoldCoast Tickets club.
