Me too. I'd rock out to this as a kid.

Oh yeah, I remember this! I thought it was a really cool intro.

(Kind of a sparse crowd in Anaheim, huh?)

I can't believe it's almost 20 years old! :o:

I love it. It showcased three of my all-time favorite White Sox players.

Also, anyone else catch a glimpse of the pre-renovated Big A?

I didn't remember that's what that place ever looked like, holy hell, what an eyesore.

Great intro. Loved it. Dusted off the old air guitar for one more solo.

That does bring back memories. Now that I've seen this again, I remember the balls bouncing to form "S-O-X" (which I always thought was kind of cheesy).

I had such high hopes for 1992. The Sox looked very promising after '91 and for '92 they had a supposedly "all-star" infield of Ventura-Guillen-Sax-Thomas. Well, Ozzie collided with Raines on a popup in May and had a season-ending knee injury and Sax turned out to be a total bust. He hit .304 for the Yankees in '91 and .236 for the Sox in '92.

I noticed that too. The Big A started out as a good looking baseball only park, but they converted it over to a multi-purpose eyesore in 1980 to bring in football. In '92, the Rams were still playing there.

Yes, I can't believe it's been almost 20 years. The 90s to me just don't seem so comically dated as the 70s and 80s seemed after 20 years.

I loved this intro. Not having cable, whenever I'd know the Sox were playing on WGN, I was sure to be parked in front of the TV early enough to watch the intro. I always liked how the words Chicago White Sox covered the screen at the very end, only to fall to pieces and reveal the beginning of the broadcast. The music sure was cheesy, though!

I definitely remember that intro and theme music! That was actually the first year I began watching baseball.

Sadly, I still remember that intro was somewhat similar in style and look to the one they used for the Cubs that same year. The music was obviously different, and I still remember the sound of it (cue Danny Mac's WE'RE HAPPY FOR YOU sound bite) -- haven't found that one on YouTube though.

Didn't WGN have any better highlight clips to show in that intro? Looked like they took clips from a very cold, gray day. Not exactly a HR swing by the Big Hurt either:tongue:.

It sort of looks like the Saved By the Bell opening credits.

I remember this song, despite being only 4 in 1992. Did WGN use the same intro music for a few years after?

I remember going to the Big A when I was 13 and thats what the stadium looked like. They were playing the Brewers and I got Pat Listach's autograph.. I believe he won ROY the year prior. We were able to get into the stadium early with press passes, it was great! I remember the HUGE A with the halo on top of the outfield bowl!

If it wasn't for that flood I would have missed my first opener since 1983. I am still keeping the streak alive!:sox

My dad and grandfather were at that game.

I was there, too. I had weekend season tickets in '92, thinking it was "our year."
