After three Cubs errors allowed six Milwaukee runs in a half-inning, members of the Cubs scuffled in the dugout. Carlos Silva, who was the starter, is alleged to have been involved in the scuffle.

Glad to see they're keeping early spring training games in perspective.

And I don't see Zambrano's name or mentioned anywhere, plus they don't even have Milton Bradley anymore.

Mid-season form it appears.

Three spring training games into his non-interim tenure, and Quade already has to play babysitter.

That's pathetic.

Reportedly, the root cause was they were upset some of the new guys were trying to "out-****ty" the old vets.

We don't know the whole story, but could this give the Cubs the excuse they need to rid themselves of Silva?

They never needed an excuse, they just need to be willing to put $13.5 M in a bag and light it on fire.

Is there an over/under on the amount of dugout fights for the season?

Garza is good for at least 1-2 blowouts a year

But, at least Silva is showing that fire and passion! That is very important to Chicago fans!

Are they sending all of them to "Anger Management" counseling?

I actually feel bad for Quade. His first shot at managing in the bigs and he's going to have this kind of garbage to try to navigate through.

Well, if I were a Cubs fan I would be heartened by this news. It is only the second of March and they are in midseason form!

I just posted this on my facebook:
Chicago Cubs players Carlos Silva and Aramis Ramirez got into a scuffle today after just one week of Spring Training. Sources say the fight started when the two were debating who to blame for their upcoming 103rd straight season without a World Series, the goat or day games.

Cubs manager Mike Quade just released a statement reading: "Carlos and Aramis have reached a compromise and we are going to put this fight behind us. We want to make our fans happy and focus on that first. So we are going to continue to blame Steve Bartman for our future futility."

That made me laugh out loud, as folks used to say.

Wouldn't it more correctly be for the Cubbies: New clowns, same circus?

MLB Network just quoted Quade as saying "No discipline will be necessary, boys will be boys," that does not exactly sound conducive to a positive clubhouse atmosphere.

Too bad it wasn't Silva and Zambrano or better yet Garza and Zambrano.

But that's gonna be tough to get going since they don't pitch on the same days.

The problem is that these guys are men. Silva will be 32 in a couple of months. Aramis Ramirez will be 33 in June. At some point, you have to stop making excuses.

I can hardly blame Silva... If I had that defense behind me, I'd want to fight them all too. 5 errors today?!?!?! Yikes.

Not even that. It's a SPRING TRAINING game. It doesn't even count. I can understand 2 guys having words with each other in a big game, but in a game at the beginning of the year that doesn't count for anything? That's absurd.

A Garza and Zambrano fight would be epic. No Gatorade cooler would be safe.

This reminds me of last year when Clif Lee intentionally hit a batter during a spring training game. Some guys take these games way too seriously.

Not that I agree but it makes sense a hot head like Silva would do this. He was the one a few weeks ago saying he should be automatically in the rotation even though he is a question mark to make it. Defense was bad so he became irate because the errors don't help his pitching line when those runs came around to score.

I predict a Phil Rogers article this week/weekend where this incident will be a "gelling" point in team unity.

And somehow will find a way to insinuate the Ozzie Guillen family is at fault for it!

I think that the Cubs should institute a new players discipline procedure: Take the offending player outside of Wrigley, put a ground strap around the player's angle and attach it to a man hole cover, wet him down throughly with water, and then have him touch metal light poles with his bare hand.
