MB is a classy guy; plain and simple.

Danks is the #1 currently, so this is not a revelation.

I still hope MB gets the nod. I'd love for him to keep adding to that opening day start record. One of the best starters in the teams history. He is a class act for sure. I got into an argument over his Vick comments with a Indians fan. He was saying how it's 'aweful and sick' to wish harm on someone like that. I then asked him on his feelings towards LeBron after he left his beloved Cavs and he quickly shut up, lol.

It may well be his last season; let Buehrle start.

I give the nod to MB and Coop making the decision. Truly a classy man to say this though.

It's not a playoff series, though, it's pretty much all ceremonial. The Cubs, for instance, just named Ryan Dempster their Opening Day starter even though Zambrano can pitch circles around him.

He can say anthing he wants. Ozzie respects Mark so much that he will name him.

You can't remember back to 2007?

In all fairness, does anyone really WANT to remember back to 2007?

The WORST opening day I've ever attended. Truly a horrible taste of things to come. Froze that day up in the 500 level.

The weather was great for opening day in 2007. Contreras' brief outing was not.

Didn't Erstad hit a homer leading off in the first inning? I know Sizemore went yard in his first AB, too. They were up like 5-1 after the first.

I remember watching that game in a bar in Chicago with my family. It was my first official day as a Chicago resident.

Which Carlos Zambrano have you been watching the past two years?

Danks has easily been our best pitcher over the last three years. Let him start.

Thats fine that MB said that. I like Danks he's one of my favorite Sox players...

But I want Buehrle to start opening day. It just looked odd seeing Jose on the mound in 07 for the opener.

He's a nutcase, but I'll take Zambrano's best over Dempster's best any day of the week.

"He'll be the Opening Day starter for the White Sox until the day he dies," said Danks of Buehrle"

Should be Buehrle's 10th in a row. Boo Ozzie, 2007.

He's a nutcase, but I'll take Zambrano's best over Dempster's best any day of the week.

When I saw Zambrano pitch, including his "lights out" second half which was against mainly light hitting teams like SF, Houston and Pittsburgh, he was a junk ball pitcher. As it stands right now, Dempster has been the better pitcher since 2008, at the top of their games Zambrano was better.

As for the White Sox, unless Peavy is healthy and back to his 2007 form, Danks is our best pitcher, but being the Opening Day starter is more about an honor and who has been here longest rather than who is the best starter and for that it goes to Buehrle. If this were game one of the playoffs, you go with your best (or your hot hand), but for Opening Day it's about tenure and honor and Buehrle has both of those over Danks.

Ozzie definitely made the wrong choice in 2007, but I wouldn't mind Danks getting the nod this year.

Ozzie is going to go with Buehrle...and he should.
Burls has a good record in opening day games, and he needs to try to set the standard for defensive plays for the year like last year with his between the legs to barehand of PK...can he outdo himself on the Buehrle-meter?

It is an honor, but also something that Mark does well,so why change?

Doug Padilla ESPN Chicago (http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/news/story?id=6155251) latest on Buehrle, sort of, starting.
