Great mugshot. On the positive side for the Tigers, he looks fairly thin.

Someone, like fellow countryman and Tiger teammate Magglio, needs to do an intervention.

Kick him out of the league, Selig. But make the Tigers still pay him.

It's a shame. It looks like the "he's turned it around" reports from last spring were premature. I know alcoholism is a horrible thing, and hopefully he gets the help he needs. As for his career, all I can say is he is lucky he is immensely talented. If he wasn't a such a good player he probably would have found himself out of work after his little stunt in 2009 helped cost the Tigers their season.

Get him some help.

It's a shame when ANYBODY is stupid enough to get behind the wheel after drinking. Who cares if he can hit a baseball 400 feet?

True, but I won't pass judgment on him because I did when I was younger. It was pretty damn stupid of me.

I feel bad for the guy (and my fantasy team, as others have lamented) but I wish nothing but the worst for the entire Tigers organization.

Well, the Tigers like to spend big money on players and Pujols plays the same position as Cabrera...........

In all seriousness though hopefully Cabrera gets the right kind of help for this.

Not me, this isn't a guy who wants help. This is a guy who thinks he is just above everything. **** him. I don't feel bad for him at all. Every year we hear the stories and how he needs help. Obviously its just a smoke screen.
Everyone posting in this thread?
I must have misread soltrain21's post. I thought he was stating that the ability to hit a baseball should not excuse such criminally stupid behavior. Obviously, that people care about Cabrera's ability to hit a baseball is what makes the matter something of wide interest.
In any case, I believe it's a shame that anyone, including someone who can hit a baseball 400 feet, would be stupid enough to get behind the wheel after drinking. And I'm guessing I'm not alone.

Alcoholism is a disease. Many or most people with that disease would have more decency than to drink Scotch behind the wheel of a car.
Cabrera is a piece of ****. I hope they convince him to drink somewhere that doesn't put innocent lives at risk.

Great point. I'm just thankful for the police officer who stopped him before he killed or hurt somebody.

He's on a new diet. It consists of tequila and limes.

I am sick with worry that the Tigers will go all out to replace him with Pujols. They love to spend big bucks.
