Steve Goodman applauds

Its a beautiful day for a funeral, Hey Ernie lets play two!
Somebody go get Jack Brickhouse to come back,
and conduct just one more interview
Have the Cubbies run right out into the middle of the field,
Have Keith Moreland drop a routine fly
Give everybody two bags of peanuts and a frosty malt
And I'll be ready to die

As long as Moreland doesn't say something like "Awww, will you look at that.... did you see that...." when he's on the radio, he'll already have Santo beat.

I don't mind this as he was already a fill-in regularly. I just wish Stoney would have had a change of heart as he's by far my favorite broadcaster and really (after Harry) the voice of the Cubbies for me. Ron never did anything for me. Too annoying like Hawk.

For WGN this represents a huge youth movement...and for their audience as well. Moreland will be a studly sex symbol among WGN listeners...ok, not a bad choice,I admit.

If Moreland can put together one complete sentence he'll have Santo beat.

Must be why Garry Meier is on GN...

Dont anybody dare rag on me for listening to GN, I cant stand B and B and Meier is much funnier. Besides, Silvy, Yurko and Hary go off on tangents at times and cant get back on track.
