Through one day of on-line balloting, Damon (248,576) leads the Indians' Jim Thome (243,025) by roughly 5,500 votes.

Also in the five-man competition are the A's Eric Chavez, who said he won't go if he wins, Magglio Ordonez of the White Sox and the Angels' Darin Erstad.

----How can Boston outdo Cook County is stuffing the ballot boxes!?!?

If you did that, he would get senile senior citizens to vote even though they can't read the ballot, resulting in votes for a 3rd Party All-Star team.

And then Bud would award the 30th spot to Thome since there wasn't anytime to count the ballots.
