Irony is the one team that really needs him and could pay would never take him back.

As Smokey Robinson once sang, "I Second That Emotion".

I really hope he comes back down to earth in 2011, but we know the Twins and their "pixie dust"/"horseshoes up their asses" way.

Great signing for the Twins if he stays healthy. He's been a pitcher that is worth more than 8 million a year for the past two seasons, in comparison to similar pitchers salaries.

I was a bit surprised to see the deal only for 16 million. Earlier in the offseason it was reported that he was looking for something in the ballpark of 3 years, 36 million. But, by now, most of his potential suitors had gone other directions.

IIRC, Cashman was all for bringing back Pavano, and even made him an offer, but was vetoed by the Steinbrenners.

Now watch him pitch like Cy Young for the next two years, and then when he goes elsewhere, he'll quickly become the Pavano of old.

I hope baseballs hit off of him go out so fast that he gets whiplash.
