Man, and you thought the Cell was giving away statues. What happens when Sandberg and Maddox pass on? The place will be littered!

I'd be stunned if the Cubs built a statue for Gary Maddox.

This just in-Dave Kaplan has pronounced the statue of Ron Santo "more impressive" than the one of Nellie Fox.

Just post it. This board isn't so anal that people won't know that you're just kidding and it's all in good fun.

No problem with Santo but it's getting a little out of hand with too many statues. The CUBS are mod edit

How much you want a bet they'll have a statue of SOSA one day.

I can't wait. My dog will piss on it.

Mod Edit: That's a language filter violation. Please don't do it again. Type the word out and let the filter do its job.

I have a good feeling that I was thinking of the exact same comment.

I apologize. Was not aware of the filter. You might want to read "WSI Rules and Other Useful Info" which is stuck at the top of the page in the clubhouse.

I don't really see what the issue is. He was an icon and he was a good guy. This is coming from the biggest Cubs hater on earth.

The issue is that the Cubs are stealing the spotlight from us. Santo's last uniform was a White Sox uni. Remember, us Sox fans have an "inferiority complex." Just ask any Cub fan who says they don't pay attention to the White Sox.

I personallly am over Cubs hate. I have made my peace with it all and am done with the insecurity that marks so many Sox fans.

He was a great player, borderline Hall of Famer, by all accounts a good guys and one of the franchise icons- seems OK to me.
