Pretty cool story (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/blog/big_league_stew/post/Good-guys-wear-black-Mark-Buehrle-pays-bills-fo?urn=mlb-295219) about Mark and his wife stepping up and picking up the tab for an injured dog's medical bills.

Yeah, I thought this was a trade thread. Worried there for a minute.

Edit: Oh and Mark Buehrle has a big heart.

OMG I was thinking ... PLEASE ... NO NO NO
especially to the Yanks or Twinkies ...
but then I read that thread and it put a smile on his face.

Burhles and his wife seem like good people
who are normal and use their money for GOOD , not for SHOW !

Please, mods, can we change the title?

Like others, I was afraid Mark was traded to the Cardinals, or something terrible like that.

You're not the only one.

I'm so glad Kenny continues to keep around class acts in the organization.

Reminds me of Chase Utley and his wife who paid for vet bills for a dog that was being tortured and burned by some kids in Philadelphia. A nice and warm hearted gesture by Mark and his wife.

Same! I literally gasped. Whew.

Anyway, yeah - I'm glad to have such a good guy on our team.

As many here thought I also thought this thread meant Buehrle as gone. Ok, now if you remember Casey Kasem, then you might remember this, I remember it from Dahl & Meier playing this clip all the time. When when I read about Buehrle coming to the rescue of "rescue" of this dog I thought of this bit for some reason.

Yes! The classic "Snuggles" meltdown!

Thanks to that classic tirade, "Dare Me" by the Pointer Sisters and "Shannon" by Henry Gross are a MANDATORY twofer! :D:

I heard about this story a while ago. I still almost had a heart attack when I saw "Mark Buehrle to the...". He's my favorite Sox player of all time (recently surpassed Big Frank), and would hate to see him in another uniform.

But yes, it was very cool of him to do this.

Yahoo comment boards make The Roadhouse look like MENSA.

Darn it; it makes it harder to accept him going elsewhere! How dare he effect how the fans feel about him!?!?!?!?!?!

Classy move by a very classy guy. To paraphrase Hawk:

"I love Mark Beuhrle."

I also tend to believe there are people on there who post things just for a reaction and to get a rise out of people. And it works, without fail. A guy that posted a rude comment on page 1 was still getting massive attention 500 posts later and all throughout the message board and I'm sure he was smirking about it.

That's probably why we often say here, "Don't feed the trolls."

I hope no one mistook my post as a negative critique of Mark's kind act. I think it was cool of him.

No worries, I was just commenting on some of the people whose posts are attached to that story and how negative some of them are.

The comments on any news story on a website are a wasteland of humanity. Not even worth reading any of it.

Great story though, only solidifies him being in my top 5 sox of all time.

No I understood your post. I was talking about the Yahoo trolls. They're probably comparable to Youtube commentors.
