View Full Version : The 2011 White Sox are "All In" (New Marketing Campaign)

Sox marketing department is not wasting any time. Looks like it's time for us to put our chips in the pile too. I may have to look into one of those Ozzie plans.

Since Quentin is not in the picture, should we suspect anything?

I suspect they couldn't fit more players into the ad.

Not sure how I feel about this one. I've been hearing "All in" for a few days now in regard to the Sox, and I'm pretty sure I'll be sick of hearing it by the end of the season.

Why would they use a picture of clean-shaven Konerko? The man just doesn't look right without a goatee.

The only thing we should suspect is that they are trying to capitalize on the signings by creating immediate revenue. Folks, if you're planning on buying and haven't yet done so, do it now! Put more cash into the team and Kenny may convince JR to spend more :)

We all remember how great that turned out.

He threw out his back bracing himself against the breeze created by the camera's lens when the photographer clicked the 1st take. Couldn't take a good photo.

I'm very concerned about not having a good healthy Peavy this year.

I think he is still a big key for us.

You've got all offensive players, two of which were brought back and the one new player, and a pitcher in the last year of his contract. I wouldn't read too much into it.

It's the first ad blitz for the 2011 season. I think you're reading a bit too much into that.

Think about it this way, Peavy was featured heavily in the Sox off-season ads before the 2010 season and look how that worked out for him. Now he's under the radar, baby.

I'm just thinking more along that the team is not expecting much from him this season. All indication are that he might not be ready for opening day.

Peavy is a huge marketing player and a big name around baseball. He should be on that ad if he was expected to contribute.

Every year the value of these promo/campaign slogans is argued. Some people like them, and other people think the very concept of a slogan sucks.

As far as slogans go, I feel this one is not too bad. It expresses the organizations desire to produce a winner. As a life long Sox fan I like that attitude.

The future is never guaranteed. I like the Win Today attitude of the White Sox. It sure beats " I hope we can be competative".

I go to war with these guys, it's ALL IN for me this year too.

It's a good slogan as it accurately displays the team's attitude. We are out to win it this year. Not quite as good as the Hawks' "One Goal," but it's the same idea.

I disagree. The omittance of Peavy on the billboard is not indicative of the Sox' expectations for Peavy this year. If he is not expected to contribute then the last week will have been for nothing. Peavy may not start the season, but he'll be a big factor in how this team performs next season. Just because he's left off a freakin billboard does not indicate what the Sox expect out of him next season. Besides, it's more important for Peavy to be rehabbing right now than flying to Chicago to appear in an ad campaign.

I don't recall any MLB teams ever doing such a marketing/imaging campaign where players are dressed in the road grays. It is pretty much typical (whether official or unofficial) that teams market their players while wearing home uniforms. I suppose that trend may change to involve alternate uniforms, if that hasn't happened already. Doesn't happen with the road grays though.

You honestly think that in this age of technology all those guys on that photo were flown into Chicago to take that picture? I don't think so.

Now, in regards to Peavy, I too 100% believe that he will be the X factor not only overthrowing the Twins but also standing a chance for a legit WS run.

I just found it odd that the team's highest paid player an perhaps most known on a National stage was left out. That was my only observation.

I do not think that. Bad example to use.

Peavy may be a name that is recognized, but I think people around the city are more likely to recognize AJ, Buehrle, Konerko and to an extent Dunn. But who cares, the team has to live up to expectations now. Can't wait for the season to start!!

They included only a few players to spark conspiracy theories at WSI. Brooks has sent out an internal email which reads "Success!"

It also beats the Cubs marketing theme this year: "Hey, we'll try to play some baseball while you get blind drunk!"

What's this about "even if I lose the game" and "letting go of my defenses?" Forget that!

The only problem with "All In" is if the Sox fail. Then the Twins can say, "You guys went 'all in' and that's the best you could do? Ha!"
