Thread title changed to cover both players since the article covers both.

Any word on Alexei's decision?

2011:$1.1M

if otherwise eligible for arbitration, Ramirez may opt out of 2011 salary by 12/1/10

if Ramirez opts out, White Sox may exercise $2.75M option for 2011 or go through arbitration with Ramirez

Alexei's is different as he is not eligible to become a FA the way Paulie and Putz are as he doesn't have 7 years of service time and the Sox still control him.

That makes sense. I was wondering since options don't usually come into play when the team controls the player for a few more years.

I'd assume next year would then just be a normal arb year for Alexei.

2012 and 2013 are arbitration years for Alexei. He is a free agent after that.

Rejecting arbitration doesn't mean they are leaving. It just means they are going to entertain offers from other teams. It will be interesting to see what offers they get and if the Sox decide to match them or not.
