Good for him, he deserves it. Looking at his numbers from this past season and then remembering he missed a month is amazing. He's been a fun one to watch. Seeing what he got, I can't imagine how Jeter will argue that he's worth more than 3/45.

0% chance he makes it to the end of the deal in Colorado.

Are there any details about a NTC?

I honestly don't think he is worth that kind of money to begin with, just my thought. I don't understand the need for the Rockies to set the market this high for him.

My concern is how much will Alexei demand here soon. Not close to the palyer Tulowitzki is but definately in the conversation as a top 5 SS in the game right now.

This contract is setting the market way too high IMO on the SS position.

I have no idea, but that deal is going to hamstring Colorado's ability field 8 other competent players. Ubaldo Jimenez? Gone. Carlos Gonzalez? Gone. Even if he has a full NTC, 3-4 seasons of mediocre, 70-80 win baseball will wear him down, and he'll seek greener pastures. Just as A-Rod.

This extension is very odd since they had him signed through 2013, and the terms of the contract stay the same for the next three years. I don't think I've ever seen an extension agreed upon but starting four years from the time of the signing.

Alexei can't even be a FA until 2014.
