5 years ago the Boston Globe took a chance on a 24 year old woman who was fresh out of Northwestern and made her the Red Sox beat reporter.

She aced it and I wish her well as she now will become a reporter on other sports for the Globe

She blogged

One of the leading BoSox blogs responded

The response is creepy. I hope she gets an order of protection.

Does the Globe have a similar program like Chicago Tribune Live? Seems strange that a newspaper beat reporter got t.v. airtime.

Globe via NY Times is a part owner of the Red Sox/NESN

Amalee turned into the perfect choice, brought the Globe into the FB and Twitter world, knew the game and Northwestern enhanced her writing skills.

She is only 28 and she turned down offers from NESN, ESPN-Boston, CSN and WEEI who all have active websites to stay with paper for less money.

Globe lost beat writer Mike Reiss to ESPN-Boston and he said money and security were the reason.

CSN-New England hired just about the entire Providence Journal sports staff including Sean McAdam and Art Martone.

I've heard of chubby chasers but never average looking chasers. It must be a guy with low self esteem.
