For Vin Mazzaro and a Class A pitcher.

This makes me change my "where will the free agents go" predictions as I thought Scotty Pods would be Bay Area bound....

Good trade for both teams... Mazzaro could a good young pitcher. Royals are really starting to scare me with all of their talented youth.

Nice pickup for the A's. Excellent player to have roaming the OF behind an up and coming pitching staff.

Decent return for KC.

Isn't this exactly what people say roughly every three years this past decade about KC?

So Recently, the Royals lose Bannister who the Sox tee off on, and gain Vinny who they couldn't touch (albeit in 2 starts). Really need to improve on the 10-8 record again KC next year.

I'd say the Royals got a steal. I'd wouldn't have given them Mazzaro straight up for Dejesus.

That's a nice trade for both teams. The Royals could be dangerous by '12.

I'm still waiting for the Indians farm system to be a factor.

Agreed. I remember people talking up the Royals farm system when Buddy Bell was still managing there. I'll believe it when I see it.

Wait, besides Tim Hudson name an A's starter that has actually amounted to something they traded away?

True, because by then, Kenny will have dealt for more Royal rejects.

Yeah, put me in the category of a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn about the supposed quality of the Royals' farm system. Wake me up when one of them does something worth a damn.

Dan Haren was pretty solid for a while.
