Former Cub Matt Murton has 203 hits this season for the Hanshin Tigers. He needs 8 more in the next 9 games to break Ichiro's mark set in 1994.

Just wait until the last few days when the opponents intentionally walk him over and over to keep the record "in house".

Meh, he did it in a season 8 games longer than it was when Ichiro did it.
