Nice win. Especially nice to beat the Yankees.

Too bad Swisher couldn't hit .290 for the Sox in 2008.

Big win for the boys tonight! Nice to see Big Game Freddy can still handle said "Big Games" for the Sox! Against the Yankees, we will take it!!!

Now, GO MARINERS!!!

I hope Threets is okay. That was the only bad thing about today's game.

Now let's take this series and try to close some ground in the standings!!

Smacking around the Yankings is always enjoyable; smacking around "the elite" AJ Burnett makes it more enjoyable

Aside from the usual Linebrink business, this was a fun game to follow on Gameday. Oh and Swisher, you can stop hitting well any time now.

Freddy beating the Yankees was a HUGE bonus for this series. Now we just have to hope that Danks and Gavin can do their thing. Keep it up offense. Hopefully Manny will be joining us soon.

Very nice win but how many relief pitchers can the Sox lose? They are dropping like flies yet they allow Minnesota to get two in the past few days.

Hopefully they are working on more than just Manny.

Don't stop now boys!!!

Go Mariners! We are still in this thing.

Bring on Manny!

Get rid of Liney. Possibly Kenny's worst FA signing in his tenure.

The bullpen can't catch a break, so to speak.

Tribune is reporting Threets has elbow issues. X-rays were 'negative', scheduled for an MRI on Saturday.

I'll be curious to see if they recall someone quickly from Charlotte.

Couldn't believe my eyes. That why the home plate umpire is the most important guy on the field. Still have to blame Liney though. Lordy, I wish he could give us more than mop up duty.

The home plate ump had a little trouble tonight. And a blow out in the 9th? Anything close is usually a strike, and that pitch was center-cut.

I followed the game on my BB.
I was at the Chicagoland Speedway for the first time.

I was sooo stoked to see Freddy pitching well and the sox having
so many men on base. It seems like when I do not watch the games or go to the games , they win. GO FIGURE !!

Hope Threets is okay. We cannot keep losing guys like this in the pen.
I know Manny would be pretty good here , but maybe KW should
get another arm for the pen -

Not to take anything away from the Sox, but the Yankees looked miserable tonight. The Swisher throw to Section 132, Row 21 was the highlight of the evening.

Anybody else slightly puzzled about not a single player showing up for Blackhawks night? The four trophies together was awesome, but they could have had a lot more fun with it (Ice Crew dragging the field, a Zamboni appearance, the "Shipping Up to Boston" guy in the dugout dance competition and Chelsea Dagger somewhere in the fireworks show.)

Definitely needed this one tonite with CC looming tomorrow and the Twins winning out west. Bad luck that the twins miss King Felix, have to hope the M's get one this weekend, and the Sox take 2 of 3...at least this is the last of M's for the Twins, and now they play real teams the rest of the way. The tribe, tigers, and royals can beat them or the Sox as we know.

Speed really keyed the game tonite with Juan,Alex,Omar and even Carlos showing aggressive baserunning.
Johnny Danks has to go out and beat the Yanks ,not CC...that is the offenses job.

They sure were heavy! I didn't expect to get a paper weight! It was nice!

God, it feels great to beat the Yankees again! The Sox kept on going at them until they pounded them into submission. It was nice seeing a bunch of Yankees fans leaving in the 8th inning.

He's on the DL.

During the rally in the First, I thought I saw Girardi on the phone with Jim Hendry begging for the Cub job. Told him he could start tomorrow. Sooner, if necessary.

I'm also glad the idiot fan got ejected from the game in the 1st. Thankfully Pierre scored eventually, and that inning ended up being kind of big anyways!

Did anyone see the fight in the 106/107ish area in like the 7th or 8th inning?

Yes, I was, and I can confirm it was me, because one of the guys was talking about a text message he got from a friend mentioning that they were "TV stars." I'm going to have to watch the broadcast, which I taped!

This isn't the first time I've made it on the Sox broadcast. I have a photo of a screen shot my downstairs neighbor took of me in another victory over the Yankees a few years ago. A priest at church when I was in high school also saw me on TV over a decade ago!

That's our Linebrink!

Other than the ninth, what a great game. 9 runs, and they even came without the benefit of a homer. That doesn't happen too often. It was great to jump on a ****ty pitcher for an early lead and score the inning immediately after the Yankees scored their second run, letting them know there would be no comebacks tonight. Let's get some more of this tomorrow.

Fuentes is owed just under $2 million for the remaining one month of his contract. That's a ton of money to throw for one month of a lefty specialist.

Might be questionable from the business end, but they've just super-strengthened a potential weakness with Capps and Fuentes. And now that Thornton and Putz are down it looks pretty bright.

$2MM is a lot for one month for a reliever (which further illustrates my dislike of paying relievers big bucks, but I digress), however, he is not a lefty specialist. This is a guy who has being closing for the Angels and has a 1.2 WHIP on the year while striking out a batter an inning. Beats Jenks numbers overall. It was a good pickup for the Twins. It would have been a good pickup for the Sox. Although if the payroll numbers came down to Fuentes vs. Manny, then the Sox made obviously correct choice. Hope they can work out that deal.

We can't beat the Yankees. We can't even beat the Orioles.. or the Royals! We're a flawed team. We have no DH! Freddie is gone. Our offense has too many holes in it. There is no leadership.

But wait..

A raucous home crowd is a great 10th man.

You can't, on the one hand boo A-Rod for admitting to PED usage if, on the other hand you want the Sox to get Manny. Unless you don't care about being consistent.

Wonderful White Sox winner against the Yankees last night; I also loved seeing all of the trophies during the pre-game ceremony, especially the World Series Trophy. Would love to see the Sox bring another World Series trophy to the South Side THIS October.

In order to do this, the Sox gotta keep winning. The Twinks have another easy game in Seattle today while Sox get Sabathia tonight. Let's go Johnny Danks and lets Go Sox!

Cool. Girlfriend's dad got us some awesome tickets for a Phillies game in Philly. Our seats were right in the line of the camera when they took a side-view of a lefty batter, so we were on TV a lot.

It was funny because a bunch of our friends were at a bar back home, and they were showing the game on a big screen.
