Taking all things into consideration, how we are playing, who we are playing and track record home and away vs. opponents I see the Sox going 20-18 the rest of the way to finish at 87 -75.

Balt....... 2-1
NY......... 1-2

@Clvd ....2-1
@Bost.... 1-2
@Det..... 2-2

KC........ 2-1
Minn..... 2-1
Det .......2-1

@Oak.... 1-2
@LLA.... 1-2

Bost..... 2-2
Clvd......2-1

Bottom line; 87 wins wil not hack it, wait till next year.
Sad thing is at the end of July I had us for 92-94 wins.

20-18 or 23-15?

I think it's silly to predict games like this because with this team you just have no idea what you're going to get. If the bullpen keeps blowing up they're screwed. If they can somehow get it together they still have a shot.

The way the Sox have gone this year they can lose two out of 3 to Baltimore and sweep the yankees and I wouldn't be suprised.

All things considered regarding the issues with this club and the way they played the first two months, I'd be satisfied with 87 wins. Not happy about it but it beats losing 87 games.

And I think given the shape of the bullpen that 87 is a high estimate. I'm thinking more like 83 or 84.

At the beginning of the year I saw them for 88 wins.
They are not as bad as the April-May version or what we have seen the last 2 weeks.
That being said they are not as good as what we saw in June and July.
I still say 87-75

I haven't read, what's the status on Jenks? I know he's still working out back issues, but if he can't continue on and be an effective closer and we have to continue using a closer by committee then 87 wins may be a high estimate.

81-81 is mediocre.
87-75 is above average.

I say 91-71....and a game 163 win at Target,with PK running around the bases afterward with a can of beer.:D:

Over the last 20 seasons the Sox have averaged 83 wins. I think it all depends on your division and the year. You can have some knock-out divisional fights and not have the record but still be ultra competitive.

Plus, 91-71 and another game 163 would make me REALLY happy! :redneck

pretty nice, Suit. I wished for a 28 - 10 finish in yesterday's post game thread. Looking at your predictions, I had pretty much the same results - except I had them sweeping Cleveland to finish the season.

Hoping. Not predicting. Just looking at that - series by series - it is gonna be tough. Real tough. Even with the .500 trip to the West Coast.

Oh for another 11 game winning streak ... and a 9 gamer to boot.

If I was a betting man, I'd bet on 90 wins, max. Of course, back in April, 87-88 figured to win the division.

I need to drink Suit's kool-aid, cuz I'd be surprised at this point if they reach 90 wins. If they got to 94 wins, I'd happily donate a decent sum of money to Suit's favorite charity.
