This was because a Cubs pitcher drilled him in the head while the Brewers were destroying the Cubs. The Brewers didn't respond.

Will Hawk take some time off to tend to him?

Has anyone else noticed that once he left the Twins, I don't think Hawk has mentioned Gomez or his man-crush once. Either someone in the Sox organization told him to tone down the Gomez love, or Hawk has just forgotten about him since he left the AL.

Hawk is feeling jilted. He can't talk about it because it hurts too much.

Despite what Hawk wanted you to believe, there was a reason why the Twins traded him for a player who had a crappy year. Gardenhire couldn't wait to get rid of him.

And to think they only had to trade Johan Freakin' Santana to get him in the first place!

Gomez is one of those "toolsy" players that GMs and scouts fall in love with. They figured he would mature as a person, be able to teach him to be a more disciplined hitter, use his bunting and speed in time and then they could have a Ricky Henderson type leadoff man that would be unstoppable. Obviously, this was not the case. He is a jackass and there is a Texas sized hole in his swing. However, the guy is really, really fast.
