Had a tough job taking over from Casey Stengel but did very well.
Did not know he lived right up the road from me in Winter Haven.
RIP Major.

Houk replaced Don Zimmer in Boston and had to deal with ownership blunders ( Carlton Fisk ) but he had a knack with younger players to help them mature.
