Nah, my recommendation to you is to get the crying out of the way now- it will hurt a lot less in September.

Your pitching sucks, and you really did not deserve a single win you had in the series. Enjoy it, but try relieving the pain early.

one of the fun things about being on a MB for another fan is you really learn that there's no difference between the two groups following a tough loss or series. Manager sucks, GM sucks, the team is horrible, they quit, they're bums, they have no pride, they mailed it in, blow the team up.....

It's always been a goal of mine to compile a list and compare. I forget which MB I am on sometimes.

Tigers tied it, and Cleveland takes the early lead. Is this another second half run for the Indians? Hopefully both lose today and the Sox can be 2.5 out after today. It's going to be tough for Texas, Detroit is a hell of a home team.

Also, if Cleveland does play well against MInessota that is a testament to the lack of mental fortiture the Sox have when it comes to playing the Twins.

I haven't thought much of the way Gardenhire has managed his bullpen all season. He has been making up for weak starting pitching by pitching too many innings from the bullpen. The Twins have the hitting to come back and make a game out of it, perhaps even come back to win, but Gardenhire is wearing down the bullpen in the process. It's like he is depending on Pavano to give his relievers a day off every fifth game. But that might be good enough. While the Twins have under Gardenhire been a late surging team, his pitching may be too worn down this summer.

Made sense after the wild pitch, and considering what Cabrera's done tonight and all season.

Cabrera had two strikes on him before the intentional walk. The count was 2-2. At least throw a pitch out of the zone to see if he'll chase it. Of course, it's entirely possible Matt Harrison is incapable of such a thing, but the next hitter got a hit, and the Tigers could have won the game there.

With first base open after the WP and his run being meaningless anyway, he's much less dangerous on the base paths than he is at the plate.

With a fresh count, Boesch was more dangerous than Cabrera. It sounds like second guessing, and it's an academic question because the Rangers got out of the inning after Boesch got the hit. But even this year, Cabrera strikes out a lot.

I can't believe Nolan Ryan was happy with when he saw Cabrera being intentionally walked with a 2-2 count.

They may have caught the Tigers in a bit of a funk, the Tigers having lost their sixth straight since beating the Twins three times to take over first place. They may have caught the Twins on a bit of a letdown after the big White Sox series. But they have to be playing very well just to take beat those teams when they're down.

The Tigers haven't won since before the break, and since the break two of their five losses have come in extra innings. Losing is bad enough. A losing streak where you're losing extra-inning games can be a killer.

Twins have broken this one open in the bottom of the 3rd. 4-0. 3 doubles in the inning off of Westbrook, who all of the sudden doesn't look like he's going to be around much longer in this one. And this is a big reason why they are crappy. They are perpetual losers.

They are content to churn out mediocre 87-win teams every year. They never have the courage to make the big acquisition needed to put them over the top. With the new ballpark, they don't have the revenue concern anymore. Wonder what their excuse is now?

Verlander has been down for awhile, thinning out the Tigers bullpen.

Of course, the Sox lost Peavy before the All-Star break and Morneau has been down for the Twins. The AL Central race this season could be a war of attrition.

The White Sox lost Teahen as well, but they actually made their move when they put their newest future Hall of Fame shortstop at third base.

Jays and Tigers now tied at 3 in first of doubleheader.

Orioles are doing their best Recon Platoon imitation pre-Highway, dying in a loud, grotesque (and possibly military) manner, getting slaughtered by the Twins 8-1 in the 6th. Apparently the Wigginton blow-up and the fan on the field that couldn't be caught has further convinced the Orioles that October 3 is still too far off and that they should stop playing now.

I don't see how they keep pace with their injuries, their schedule, and the lack of a good starter not named Verlander. Boesch has really cooled off for them (was hitting .343, has dropped to .309 with 5 hits in their last 11 games) and without Inge and Maggs, Cabrera is going to have a tough time carrying the weight of that team.

Since the break, they've been swept by Cleveland, dropped 2 of 3 at home to Texas, and at best can split this series with Toronto. They're still going to be tough to beat at home the rest of the way out, but they are an abysmal road team (16-29) and that's before they have to go to Tampa, Boston, and New York for 11 games in the next 25 days.

KC was on a bit of a hot streak when we faced them last month in KC. I believe they were coming off winning 8 of 10 or something before that. They've cooled off since then and are back to their usual 3-7 in their last 10.

The Sox just need to take care of business at home. I don't expect too many losses by the Twins over the next 2 series as they play the Royals and Mariners. But if we can't beat Seattle and Oakland at home, then falling behind the Twins is on us, not on the "soft" part of Minn's schedule.

After this week the Twins schedule does toughen up a bit...26 of their next 32 are against +.500 teams, with those other six on the road at Clev, and Seattle. Then they have another soft stretch with KC and Cleveland in Sept.

If the Sox could get thru this week with a 3+ game cushion,I will feel a bit better. Twins finish at home in with 4 games vs the Jays...they can be tough,or will they mail it in? Pennant races are what you want ,but they can be maddening, and losing in the end is miserable.

Rays up 2-0 early thanks to a Carlos Pena 2-Run HR.

Well, at least they can't get no-hit tonight. They now have 3, courtesy of a Cabrera double in the 4th.

Moral victory for the Royals so far tonight - They only gave up 2 in the top of the first. Last night, it was 6.

Wow, the Tigers are in such a funk right now. 2nd and 3rd no outs and get nothing.

I seriously think Dombrowski will sell the farm to get another bat (Dunn) to back up Cabrera.

They could be a whole ton of games back by Sunday. Their offense is moribund right now, and they're going to get Boston coming back off of a long road trip after they're done in Tampa. We take care of business and Detroit's going to be in a very deep hole.

KC got 1st and 2nd on Pavano and came up empty. 2-0 after 2.

Tigers and Rays still even at 2 in the bottom of the 6th. If the Tigers can't win behind Verlander tonight, this road trip for them is going to seem eternal.

Crawford manufactured that one for Tampa, stealing second and then third.

KC hitting line drives right at people, whereas the Twins are squeaking little dribblers by SS and 3rd. The Twinkies have been blessed by BABIP Gods

Not looking good for them either, which means advantage Sox. One more game off of the schedule. When you're in first, all you need do is win. Let the schmucks behind you worry about how they're going to catch you.

Rays intentionally walk Cabrera to load the bases with 2 outs. Grant Balfour then comes in and strikes out Brennan Boesch.

3-2 Rays. bottom 7.

If Ankiel can get a hit the KC games get more interesting.....second time the Royals have a little thing going in 3 innings....
