We're ****ing awesome. Jesus, there have been so many rain delays this year. I swear this is the second or third time I've had to work late, yet have still been able to catch the game.

Now that we're contenders, we need to make sure our guy represents our new contending team at the ASG. :gulp:

Should have scored a lot more runs, but for the second straight rain delayed night the Sox pulled out a game they might have otherwise lost.

Going against a southpaw that can give us fits, and committing 5 errors, also shouldn't have won. I didn't mean to insinuate that it's throwing Freddy off at all, frankly there weren't enough people there for it to be distracting to the point of screwing up any player on a pitch or a play, but it just shows a sense of disinterest. The more people that do it, the more they get fired up because of that, the worse it is. That was a big point in the game and people were watching....themselves to see if the wave was going to make it back around to their section. As the Hawk would say "Get outta here...get outta here..."

When I saw the wave in texas last week, we were down by two runs with a guy on first and third with one out. The sox ended up scoring at that time. It was the key moment in the game, which the sox won, and most of the people there were too busy looking at themselves and the rest of the crowd to see it. Indeed, the wave sucks hard. God, I wish someone could teach him some plate discipline, because the ball sounds great coming off his bat. I just have no idea why anyone throws him anything other than a breaking ball in the dirt right now. Odds are he'll swing at 3 before watching 4.

Hopefully his career path follows that of another Cuban defector, Kendry Morales (without the celebration-caused leg fracture, of course).

I hope so. It would be a shame for a bat like that to go to waste because the kid's got no eye for the strike zone.

Hold out hope, though, because he looks a lot better than I expected him to.

He seems like one of those guys who will make solid contact at least once a game, and when he connects, the ball is smoked.

Did anyone ever find out why Ozzie pinch hit Kotsay for 'Bridge? I went to bed before the game was over and checked the box this morning. When I saw that, I thought that 'Bridge must have gotten hurt.

I think it was just a lefty/righty match-up deal. The ball Kotsay hit was smoked.

"yeah lets do that there joey... chicago's starters have a 4.36 ERA minnesota's have a 4.46 ERA... not that much of a difference...chigagos starters are 33-30(524 winning %) twins are 37-30 (552 winning %)"

I responded with how well they have been pitching recently...

"i don't give a **** every team goes on runs... you realize the twins have been sitting in first pretty much all season and havent went on a run?"

Does this guy not remember how hot the Twins were to start the first month of the season? Tell this guy to eat ****! That equates to run dumbass!

General:

''The Wave'' was distracting at a critical point in the game...just do not see how fans can continue to do it as the inning gets more tense...glad Soxgirl and co. did stop it over by the first base dugout a couple of times, but some stubborn fans just want to continue it. Aggravating. Just stand and cheer if you want to get behind Freddie, please!

''The Tank'' absolutely lasered that drive that threatened to go thru the left field wall. I know he has his faults, but I like this kid a lot. That double play he started? Really incredible hands on that play, reaching back behind to snab it and get a strong throw off ..kudos to Gordo on finishing that play also. I do not think you can even get on Dayan that much for the slow roller...wet grass, not easy chances out there last nite.

Kotsay is a very good pinch hitter and he made solid contact, no problem with that move. While Lily did get a big ducksnort hit, he was not making great contact vs a lefty,so get Kotsay in vs the righty.

''Big Game''...I have to say again what a pleasure it was to watch Freddie just beguile those Angels hitters. I swear Freddie did not throw two consecutive pitches that were within 7 mph of each other. Every fricking pitch was a vastly different speed it seemed. Does Freddie and Ramon know how hard he is going to throw or does he just make it up on the fly?
Talk about the ''Art of Pitching'''....right now Freddie is painting some real pretty portraits of a vet chucker who can smoke and mirror them into submission. As I told my son last nite, when Freddie was holding court in the lobby bar at Soxfest last winter, with a couple of martinis in him...that is how relaxed he seemed on the mound last nite...love the big lug:D:

There's no pleasing him, when the Sox won game 163 he was still going off.

If in March you would have told me that come July 9, the two winningest pitchers in Chicago would be named Garcia and Silva, I would have laughed in your face! You just never know.

He should be fine after this year, it will be hard to teach patience this season but by next year I expect him to be a little more patient.

Hope so, but I don't know how you teach it. Maybe Guillen/Walker can, but they sure didn't practice it.

I don't know...I personally like the wave. I'm gonna do it myself when me, my dad, my grandpa, my uncle, and my cousin go to the game friday.

I wouldn't care so much about the wave if it wasn't so ****ing distracting from the game. And it makes it seem like the fans don't care what's going on.

I saw that wave crap! It was 2-1 with men on base! How could they not be paying attention to what was going on! That was a crucial point in the game and these people are doing the wave?!?! :shakehead: :fail: :cuss:  I'm glad I wasn't there last night.....
