Well, when's the last time the Glove pitched?

The last time he pitched was in June 15th's loss to the Cubs, but Yahoo! has him listed as a reliever. I wasn't in town for that game, nor did I see it, so I don't know if that's true or not (I assume it is).

His last start was in June 10th's loss (do I detect a motif? :D: ) to the Mets. 4.2 IP, 7 H, 3 R & ER, 2 BB, 2 K, 2 HR, 84 pitches.

Should be fresh.

I am glad that when we have to face Milton we got Buehrle going. He is like their only good pitcher this year. So maybe we won't have to worry about him.

With no cub game today, probably push back each cub pitcher one day.

I like that. i would rather not see them face Clement again, and Buehrle vs. Prior is gonna be good.

Good till we have to go to the bullpen :D:

Unless the offense finds a groove, Prior is going to make them look silly.

From ChicagoSports.com:

Jason Bere was the odd man out in the Cubs' starting rotation after Saturday's game with the St. Louis Cardinals was postponed.

Bere, who now is slated to start Thursday afternoon against Cincinnati's Joey Hamilton, figures he can benefit from the extra days' rest.

"Last time out I tweaked my groin a little bit," said Bere, who is 1-8 with a 4.99 earned-run average. "I was going to pitch [Sunday against Darryl Kile]. But with what happened, I was pushed back a day. They figured to give me a couple of extra days and plug me in Thursday."

Bere injured his groin in the fifth inning of his last outing.

"The extra rest will help," he said.

"If there is a problem I really didn't want it to be severe" said Cubs manager Don Baylor about the decision to start Kerry Wood on Sunday instead of Bere. "There was some blood that came to the surface, so that means there was a small, little area [of concern]."

Friday: Matchup between two wild pitchers.
Saturday: Garland has to throw strikes. Has to hold the Cub to 2 runs or less.
Sunday: Buehrle has to hold them to 3 runs or less.

Buehrle vs. Prior would be a good match-up. The Messiah vs. the unknown ace. Maybe when Buehrle kicks his ass, some people will notice him. Doubt it though. Especially in Chicago.

The worst thing about this upcoming Flub series is the very real possibility that we will have a worse record than them by the time it's over. Yes Sox fans, that's how pathetic this season has become. We're only 2.5 games ahead of the Flubs and only 1 game ahead in the loss column! Someone please shoot me now :whiner:
