Well, at least it's not a perfect game this time...

Seriously, why do the Rays seem to be on the receiving end of every NH/PG?

doubt its going to happen. He is only through 7 and at 117 pitches. He has walked 7 rays so far.

Just turned it on and saw Crawford reach 1B on an error.

I doubt it's going to happen because the deeper you go into a no hitter, because it's difficult to go through the order for the fourth time, and with all the walks he has allowed, if he walks someone in the ninth, the Rays leadoff hitter could come up for his fifth at bat of the game. You figure Jackson has to be tiring.

But unless he is too tired to continue, I don't believe his pitch count, which is over 130, is relevant. For most pitchers, a shot at a major league no-hitter is a once-in-a-career opportunity.

In less than a year the Rays have had 2 PGs thrown against them and have just been no hit LOL And they have a basically loaded lineup normally

Pitching as a whole this season has been completely dominating. The numbers are staggering across the board.

I think that's the first no no I've ever seen where the crowd showed absolutely no respect. Throughout the 9th.. and even after the final out.. that dome was like a library.

I guess the Rays are just sick of getting no hit. Isn't that 3 in the last 2 years?

Their hitters are underachieving. They can't even get a hit in a game against a last-place National League team. Obviously, they need to fire their hitting coach.

Yeah. Methinks he'll get his next start pushed back a day or three.

He may have been wild, but a not hitter is a no hitter. Also, what an amazing feat of endurance with all the pitches he threw.

Congratulations, Edwin Jackson :gulp:

I agree. He walked seven in the first three innings and had only one run to work with, no small feat indeed.

Congrats!! Here's to sticking it to a team that gave you up for nothing!!:bandance:

They've been no-hit three times in the last year, and two of them were perfect games. Ouch.

Poor Rays. How can such a good team be so unlucky?

They're just overly aggressive young hitters. It's gotta be that. I mean 3 to essentially the same team? Sometimes you gotta wonder.

Was Jackson on LSD? Because Dock Ellis also walked 8 and hit a guy when he through his famous no-no.
