Things are looking really good right now... gotta love this complete dominance of the NL lately by the Sox, nothing like a little Interleague to get back on track. Let's not stop here guys, lets keep racking up the wins and get the sweep tomorrow!

Its great to see Bobby get the big DP and then make quick work of Hinske to end the game! The team really seems to be firing on all cylinders right now (imagine how good things could get if Beckham breaks out of this season long slump he is in, and the loose ends of the bullpen, i.e. Linebrink, get their **** together)...

Hey Twins! Your team ****ing sucks, your pitching is pathetic, and you will crash and burn in the second half, paving the way for the Sox and Tigers to fight it out for the crown.

I still want to see us perform like this vs AL competition. But these are the mighty Braves, best team in the NL.

Leave Beckham where he is and get a DH.

They should be seeing what they have in Dayan at DH.

I also think Beckham needs to solve his hitting woes in Charlotte. I haven't seen any signs he is breaking out of his funk. I was fine with him in Chicago when there was little hope of contending for this division, but his .200 average and 520ish OPS isn't going to help this team catch Minny/Detroit.

Amen to that! I had to stay away from this site for the majority of the first 10 weeks of the season because of the ridiculous pessimism. There was no way this ENTIRE team (outside of Konerko and Rios) could continue to greatly underperform the entire season.

I said all along, we have a really good team if they could just get their heads out of their asses....seems like they've finally lubed it up and freed their heads.

Don't mess with a winning streak boys...leave Gordo alone, and he will come out of it. Same folks were ready to send Carlos away a week ago now want to send Gordon down.

Now, maybe a day off vs Lowe might be in order...but send him down? No.

8 wins in a row reminds me of 2005, we never won more than that in a row but we achieved that mark (don't quote me) 4 times that year.

2 times in regular season, won the last 5 of regular season and first 3 in post-season, and won 8 in a row to end the ALCS and World Series.

I'd rather keep Omar at third and put Dayan at DH. Omar at third has gone a long way in solidifying the infield.

Can Omar play second? Dayan at third? You'd want to hurt the defense that badly to get an unproven Viciedo bat into the lineup?

It's more about getting the proven to be crappy bat of Beckham out of the line up, at least for a short while.

I don't want to mess with things now while they are going good, Beckham is playing solid defense and anything he brings with the bat is a bonus, but it is a growing problem.

The Quentin bat flip is back. MLB pitchers are now officially on notice. He is driving the ball to right field and right center with authority again like he did in 2008. I knew he had it in him! :gulp:

AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

THE WHITE SOX ARE BACK!!! THE WHITE SOX ARE ****ING BACK!!!

What a great day, what a great day. Starts out with what has to be the greatest soccer game I have ever witnessed and ends up with my Sox taking it to the greatest national league team ever. They were on fire before us and we have taken it to them. This team is raking in the runs. Quentin has finally gotten out of whatever he was in, and you could hear every pitcher wince with the though of facing Rios, Konerko, and Quentin in consecutive fashion. This team has become dangerous in no time, and we did not even add anyone. This is what Ozzie envisioned, and the fact remains that we can get contribution from anywhere in our line-up. Ramirez is batting 8th and he is a beast too.

The pitching has been incredible- both starting and bullpen. This team is ready to go, and they are ready to take on all opposition. The Tigers and Twins better make some moves because the White Sox are going to tear **** up the rest of the way. This will be a hell of a year folks!!!! The White Sox are back!!!!!!!!!!!

What a day...I just got back from the game 20-30 minutes ago. Great game nonetheless, I'm glad I didn't see the winning streak broken. I hope TCQ isn't teasing us, if he keeps hitting the way he has lately it would be so great for this team. Buehrle didn't have his best stuff but still had a decent outing. Beckham...there's nothing I can say that hasn't already been said, it's just frustrating...but if he finally did wake up, wow that would be scary. 3.5 back baby, who would have thunk it? Get the SWEEP later today boys! :D:

How about letting the pitcher hit and DH for Beckham? By pinch hitting and double switches you could trade 1 or 2 pitcher at bats for 4 Beckhams. Even if the pitcher hit 4 times it would be about a wash right now. Only half teal.

I guess stick it up Kenny's also, being that he too was going to blow this thing up 3 weeks ago.

Let's also relax a bit. We have not won **** yet. 2 games over .500 .... you don't get a trophy for that.

Neither do the Twinkees for being in 1st place all season so far, but some here seemed to deem them the AL Central champs before 1/4 of the season had been played.

This surge of 13 wins out of the last 15, and five series wins in a row is something worth being excited about, because it is due to the team playing better than they were in the first month and a half of the season. The April 2010 Sox does not win 13 out of the last 15, no matter who they played.

Agreed. I don't know how much you can blame the fans for wanting to blow it up. Just a few weeks ago, the outcome looked pretty bleak. Even the most optimistic fans were sticking their forks in. Ahem.

I wasn't. I was wondering why they were playing so lousy and when they would start playing closer to their potential. This recent hot streak is an anomaly, for sure, but it also due to the pitching being as good as advertised and guys like TCQ, Alexei, Pierre, and AJ finally helping Rios and Pauly produce runs. They won't play this well for the remainder of the season, but I never thought they would continue to play as lousy as they did earlier.

I have been optimistic about this team the entire year, but I couldn't even have anticipated a run like this. The Sox are a good team. That doesn't mean we are going to win the World Series for sure, it doesn't mean the negative Nancys need to jump both feet onto the bandwagon, but the Sox are going to be in this all year. We have meaningful baseball.

They haven't done it against the AL yet? Okay, that is a fact. We will wait and see how they do next week. But you don't just beat NL teams by showing up, not in a game in which Strasburg starts, and especially not against the NL best Braves. The Sox are playing loose and having fun right now. And that is what it's all about. They were always talented, but they needed to get over the hump and start rolling. I honestly think that since they have momentum, they will play well for most of the season. We will see how the Sox do next week against the so-called "real competition", but I am enjoying the hell out of this right now. Baseball is too long a season to be only about pennants raised. It is about having fun watching a game you love. The Sox are looking like they will give us a fun Summer, not matter where they finish.

Nor me, and I agree with the above. The team simply couldn't keep performing at such an awful level for much longer... the law of averages wouldn't allow it. And negativity is catching... luckily winning is just as contagious and Carlos seems to have caught it... there's the big bat we need without a panic trade or sending down. Let's hope they can keep it going whenever they do lose a game and the sky is falling again. The biggest change I see now is in attitude. I like what I see in the dugout when the camera is there. Instead of guys looking somber and lost I see players at ease and confident. Even Beckham has a hot streak coming soon, I reckon.

Nice assessment. Life is way too short to take the Dan Bernstein attitude that unless you win the World Series, the season is a complete and total failure and waste of time. It must stink to live with that all or nothing attitude as opposed to the ole zen-master's(Phil Jackson) insistence that the journey is the reward itself. All the fretting about Gordon Beckham falls in the wasted energy category for me...just enjoy the wins, please!
That is why it is great that baseball is a team game, unlike tennis...a teammate can pick you up when it is going bad...and you can emerge victorious. I have always maintained that baseball is the ultimate game that follows historical norms...and that this team is not a .219 hitting team and to get to their norm of .260,they would have to get hot eventually..same with the pitching. I will say the fluid on Jakes arm is a concern, hopefully Dan Hudson is ready to step in,but otherwise, enjoy the bumpy ride,Sox fans...summer is here, finally!
